No, it can’t.
@Smin1080p_WT So why can the Penguin have a totally fictional firing mode but the Brimstone can’t?
This one seems to be wrong. Cm dispensers are over the engines, not on the stabilizer.
The Penguin couldnt lock onto tanks historically. Is this going to be another case like the Korman ASMs where everyone grinded it out and then they changed it so it cant lock onto tanks? Did we not learn our lesson after that?
Isn’t there supposed to be music in the video?
Anyways I rate those event a 6.75/10, it’s kind of cool but there’s some room for improvement.
So are there any radar in this plane? Bcos I didn’t see one in the review…
But Kormoran can lock on invisible (sunk) ships ;)

What is the BR placement?
That’s nice to have new missile, but:
- It shouldn’t lock tanks
- It’s practically useless - no targeting pod for it, huge smoke trail, and even it misses stationary targets, lol
10.7 for ground and 11.0 for air
Kormoran can only lock on big targets irl since it is a radar based system, also i think active radar systems should have problems locking on groundtargets with groundclutter etc., meanwhile a infared based tracking system if sensible enough should be able to lock on the heat source of a tank
Kormoran doesn’t lock the tanks in game I don’t think, it just follows the data link of the ground radar, which means it hits the general area but isn’t accurate, which is fine really.
The penguin might see a tank, but it’s programed specifically to ignore it, so it shouldn’t be able to be used as an anti-tank weapon like they’re advertising
No, this is not just a thermal camera, if the thermal blob s not a ship it rejects it and moves on.
This is a fire and forget missile you’d launch overland, you don’t want it to go after a lighthouse or coastal defences
The only way to fire at a tank is if you use manual mode and throw it at a target.
If it can lock and track a tank it’s not a penguin missile, it’s something fictional.
Because bunch of people can’t buy any vehicle that carries brimstones unlike this one.
It can lock onto static emplacement like bunkers or airfield AAA though
the Kormoran? I’m pretty sure that’s just the GPS guidance, it doesn’t actually have a seeker lock, unlike what is being done with the Penguin
Its strange. The sources I read about don’t mention that the plane and the missile itself might lock on ground vehicles. Whats the source? Its very, very stange.
Also: If so, why is this long range F&F tank killing missile + Aim-9L aviable at ground BR of 10.7? Compared to other strike jets its a bit crazy low.
In Air RB its also very generous, if you compare the BR of other Aim-9L capable jets. I mean, its not a bulky fighter bomber like the Tornado. Its a nimble lightweight dog fighter. Up its BR.
Idk what it is, but you can lock on some AAA in ground rb or bunkers in air rb and by keeping a lock hit locked by radar thing (bunkers in air rb are harder to kill because the lock is kindof jumping and get cluttered but it is possible to destroy it with kormoran)
Since they are adding Penguins, can they finally add GCS-1 and the other Japanese ir guided anti ship weapons or will this be a gimmick reserved exclusively for this F-5 and nothing else?
japanese anti ship weaponry likley to come with the f-2
