Keybinding is important honestly. I have it set at “Z” to swap radar targets on SAMs. Guess a good portion of player don’t have it set up and there is no default button for it. Has to be done manually. Im gonna need a button for Search mode, tired of pressing Y,1,8 or clicking on the radar screen.
Those 2 missiles can be intercepted by another spaa then. There are usually few of them waiting for target. Just like irl, multiple spaa/spaags to not get overwhelmed by incoming munitions.
Warhead is even weaker than one on kh29t, you can just drive away and survive any damage taken.
Alternatively you can shoot plane down first so they dont rearm and dont repeat. You will still have time to eliminate 0.9M “threat” heading towards you. Also two can play this game, sams got points + ammo crates.
Ok so 2-3 spaas to counter a single CAS, idk wheres the balance in that.
Lets say the plane its like 8km away, most of the time will be spent into killing it, and almost no time to intercept its munitions. (We are talking about saclos in this one).
Thats why gaijin should make more tutorials which involve said keybinds. Its probably too complicated to bother. Thats the reason I play strike aircraft only or go for headons in a4e with gunpods - delving into radar interaction stuff second time but for planes is too much.
2-3 70 sp vehicles vs 1 800 sp vehicle. 2-3 vehicles that require nothing from you and 1 vehicle that requires some useful actions for your team.
If you did let plane just delve 4km deep into your launch range then its skill issue everyone loves talking about. Unless its coming from some cover. Then you focus on munitions and use ammo boxes / points. Plus your teammates might help you with that. Also you can shoot down plane, sacrifice your 70sp and respawn in another sam with backup / free sam / free sam backup. Planes arent able to do this trick in most cases.
Im actually playing 10.3 right now and even with a P-51 I get kills, its all about flying low and engine off, or fly very high and dive with the engine off. And bum, unspotted CAS.
I played helirush with the stock Tiger UHT and stock Lahatut, its obviusly more difficult because helis are not meant to rush spaas or IFVs, well with ballistic computer its way easier, most of spaa doesnt even move so…
