Congrats, youre a god who can effortlessly deal with any and all enemies no matter how strong.
Warthunder isn’t balance for tryhards, however, it’s balanced for your average player. Your average player makes mistakes sometimes (crazy concept I know). CAS harahly punishes making mistakes, SPAAA doesn’t.
Planes are meant to fly, their munitions are optimized for high altitude, and flying low is insanely easy to counter anyways.
SPAA needs to be extremely incompetent to die to a low alt strafing/bombing/rocket run.
CAS is limited by having to fly back to AF, SPAA is not. SPAA can also just brainlessly spam missiles due to short match lengths and ammo boxes.

Thats only for bombs, if you shoot a missile at low altitude with you nose a little high, it will kill the enemy.
Many times I killed ground units with the german F-4F with zuni rockets, just play with your terrain.
Depends, things like KH38, KH29 or even AGM-65 have such long range you will not get so far from the airfield. I even see people cleaning ground with the GPS KH38.
Im not a tryhard at all, i suck at the game. I often go negative in matches, i maybe put 50 hours per month sometimes more into war thunder. I’ve just played the game long enough to know how to counter things, also I’ve accepted advice from others who still actively play the game, especially at toptier. Since its not my main br currently due to grinding other nations.
You get to a point where you need to accept advice on these things, watch some videos on spaa, tanks and everything else or you’ll suffer more until you learn from it.
Spaa doesnt have unlimited ammo boxes, missiles etc. Eventually you’ll need to place yourself on a cap to keep rearming. Which isnt always possible, also making yourself a bigger target for tanks and planes.
I also have this clip, with even spaa active, the CAS owned us. Even I had some issues intercepting munitions and even playing with smoke.

God this forum is insufferable when it comes to talking about CAS and SPAA, people should either talk about actual ways to make a proper rock-paper-scissors balance around things or gtfo and make your own thread about a tank only mode… Mods should clean this nonsense

I would like you guys show us how you play CAS against SPAA (VIDEOS). I suspect you are not playing it properly.

No you really don’t. Any half sentient SPAA player can get by with just ammo boxes. Even if you do somehow run out, you can just respawn. You lose nothing, SPAA is extremely underpriced.

That might be true but sitting in spaa half the match isnt fun just for 1-3 kills compared to playing a tank
Its also funny how the free SPAA of the USSR is the Pantsir and not the 2S6 while everyone else is stuck with ADATS or VT1, totally an arbitrary choice…

Adats its okay but at actual toptier 12.7+ its annoying, especially given the free spaa is normally something way worse
Uhm no, in real life, planes only fly high if they are stealth, out of SAM range, or enviroments with no anti-air treaths (like insurgents).
In real life theres a lot of examples of aircrafts getting shot down for flying high: the F117 in serbia, Mi-24 and AH-64 downed by manpads, Su-34 having to fly low to avoid PATRIOT missiles, etc.
If in the battlefield an anti-air its present, you either use stealth planes, or use long range munitions (like israel did with the Rampage or other cruise missiles, which often use GPS guidance). Or just fly low.

Not to get into current irl situations but its also proven in the current irl situation going on, flying low is proven to be better long term for survivability and accomplishing the objective (also proven in other irl situations throughout the years)
U know what would be cool. Bird, a lot of birds fly at low alt, maybe once day Gaijin can add them and jets/props would end up ramming them causing engine failures lol Doubt it though since it involves a death of an animal…just a cool realistic idea.

Its very rare the cases of birds crashing with low flying aircrafts, because they fly away from them. Only common cases are with airline planes that fly high.
Flying is literally the point of planes. The only reason it doesn’t work in WT is cause 1980s planes are facing SPAA still in use 40 years later.
Afaik, bird strikes rarely take down planes. Squishy fleshy stuff usually loses to airplane grade materials.

Flying never means flying high, if we are talking about military planes instead of civilian planes. I already said the examples.
You forgot to mention modern weaponry, yeah planes are old but weapons like spice 250 or KH-38 are very near era to the new spaa. Not even that old because we are recieving things like rafale or j10c.
