A post has already been made about the Russian Centauro B1 120, so I wont go into to much background as all the info is the same. Back in 2012 Russia tested a number of Italian Centauro / Freccia cars. One of them was the Freccia HitFist 30. The turret is unmanned. It is armed with a 30mm cannon and Spike atgms. The hull is the same as the Freccia found in the Italian tree.
Why should it be added to Russia?
Sweden has a T-80 and Mi-28 in their tree because they tested them.
It will give Russia Fire and Forget top attack atgms.
Sweden should never of had the T-80 and Mi-28. Adding the Freccia to Russia does not fix that issue. All it does is give one of the few domestic, unique vehicles in top tier Italy and make it not unique.
Also, Russia does not need FnF ATGMs. They already have some of the best pen in the game, and are on incredible platforms. There is no point in getting FnFs.
Russia doesn’t need more, period. But especially not non-domestic vehicles.
I want to say yes, because Russia has no top tier light tanks, plus it gives Russia more variety.
I also want to say no because I hate copy paste and there is no reason to add it in.
If you pretend the 2S25M, 2S38 and BMP-2M doesn’t exist. Whilst yes, technically none are 11.0+. They outperform most other nations 10.X light tanks and most barely have even 1 10.0 light tank.
Considering the definition of nation doesn’t matter anymore in War Thunder as Gaijin is shooting left and right Leopards for everyone, I wouldn’t be surprised if they added vehicles simply because someone trialed it. Historically, late 90s Russia and Italy (at least companies) has been part of joint projects.
Who’re you to say what the USSR needs? It’s a game based around military vehicles, it’s going to get new equipment if individuals like it or not. As for fire and forget weapons, something like the Sokol-V would be preferable anyway, it’s barrel launched with fire and forget principle, as for aircraft, LMUR has a IR channel it can use with a 14-16km max range.
Getting is much different than needing. It doesn’t need them, as they are perfectly fine without it. I never said it wasn’t available; just unnecessary. Plus, let’s not ignore the fact that it can get plenty of other things before a non-native vehicle.
