So I just unlocked rank 7 in the French air tree, and now I’m wondering which jets I should bother grinding (since the grind is getting a bit spicy at this rank lmao). For now I’m researching the Mirage IIIC because people told me it’s good and fun.
So, I’d like yall to share your experience, what is fun to play, what isn’t, what should I absolutely avoid, and any advice you can think of…
Avoid the jaguar and the f104. No idea about the F8E never played it. The mirage IIIC is the best plane in the rank.
The IIIE is better in some aspects and worse in others.
The super etendard is great.
The F1C is alright after you get the magic 2s. Both attacker version of the mirage 3 (5F) and F1C (F1CT) are pretty much the same as standard except they get the best missiles stock and have no radar missiles.
The belgian mirage I have not played but it does not get magics so I don’t plan to. It does get countermeasures unlike the IIIC though.

Case in point I literally got a talisman for the IIIC and ground out the entire rank VII and VIII of the French tree with it. It’s just that good and more inportantly fun.
The magic 1s are so good you can radar slave them and fire at insane angles and they just connect. If you are chasing an enemy with flares you radar slave on them get into 600m and launch. The missile is so quick off the rail it will just ignore the flares at short ranges. But this speed makes the missile unusable at ranges more than about 2km since it does not have a long burning motor and will just not keep up. But basically any plane within about 2km that does not have flares/paying attention is dead once you lock them.

That’s insane… Though someone told me it’s gonna be harsh in uptiers since it doesn’t have flares and encounters good ir missiles
Yeah uptiers to 10.7 and above are a pain you just have to know who has dangerous missiles and avoid them. But 10.3 and 10.0 matches you jaut dominate.

My strategy mostly has been to climb up and try to get 1 kill with the R530 at the start then maybe dive down and use magics. Most of the radar missiles at theser BRs can bea easily evaded in headons. Especially mig21 and their R3Rs. Go headon with them and launch at about 6km then sharp dive down. Your 530 pulls more and they usually don’t evade soon enough.
