France is now the only Nation without a Rank VII Premium or Squadron Ground Vehicle

As i said earlier - nothing against France.

It actually doesn’t matter if you equipment is better or worse than that of other countries - as political decisions play a major role - and not even thinking about stuff like license building.

Imho your first point could also come from a JP, UK or IT player.

Regarding biggest manufactures i have no valid data - regarding actual exports we talk about cold war I & II (1991 - today). After a very interesting exchange last year with a fellow UK pilot it looks like that UK played until the mid '70s a major role too.

Have in mind that forcing / supporting weapon exports was the only way to keep the domestic industry alive - in order to stay independent from the US. Therefore the willingness to support this industry. There is nothing wrong with that approach.

Dude - there is nothing wrong with being a patriot and try to support certain views (like here lack of premium aircraft), but there is large gap between opinions and facts.

So even if i support the main topic (that minor nations are not treated well in general) your approach arguing with the size of weapon exports is flawed by pure logic. Next week some guys from Saudi-Arabia, India or Qatar etc claim own tech trees as they are the largest weapon importers.

Imho you might do some research before you post nonsense like this:

Just read this:

However, the differences of perspective between France and Germany pose a dilemma for French defence and armaments policy. Germany’s current arms-export regulations are generally more restrictive – for example Berlin has placed an embargo on arms sales to Saudi Arabia because of its role in the war in Yemen – whereas the traditional French doctrine implies being potentially open for business with all customers unless they are subject to a United Nations arms embargo (and even that has not always been an impediment – for example France was one of the main suppliers of arms to South Africa during the apartheid era).4

You can try to educate yourself by reading this:

You might get enlightened. The story with the vanished missile boats for Israel (L’affaire des vedettes de Cherbourg) should be worth your time…

I kindly ask you to avoid stuff like this :

…as this kicks you out of any serious conversation.

They might be talking about a solution Germany created in mid-90s to improve on-move hit %; i.e they sloppily “integrated” auto-tracking, but not in the real sense. The FCS was technically capable of it, but it couldn’t hold it perfectly i.e as soon as the target would change direction of travel & its speed, the FCS would lose a solution on it. Think of it like a prototype to what Leopard 2A6 EX & PSO-VT later received.

You somehow managed to unknowingly make a fool of yourself, all while being condescending: good job on that.
You quoted me talking about France having an efficient export control system after talking about how “Germany doesn’t sell to anyone”. Since you don’t have the slightest idea what export control laws and policy are, you completely missed the point and deflected right back to France’s arms export policy.
But that’s okay, let’s also prove you wrong on that.

About the vanished missile boats for Israel, you conveniently forget all the times France ended up giving up selling arms to embargoed nations or simply nations that behaved poorly on the international scene. Off the top of my head, I can already think of 2 examples:

  • Mistral affair for Russia (2014) : Russia ordered two Mistral warships from France in 2011. In 2014, after the annexation of Crimea by Russia, France canceled the sale. The ships were eventually sold to Egypt;
  • Caesar cannons affair for Saudi Arabia (2018) : Saudi Arabia ordered 12 Caesar cannons from France in 2015. Because of the conflict in Yemen as well as the many human rights violation committed by Saudi Arabia, France cancelled the sale in 2018.
    Should I go on ?

So your point doesn’t even stand here as well: the reason France is the world’s second arms exporter is not because other countries are more conscientious when exporting arms. It’s also definitely not entirely because of “politics”, however absurd that argument is. It’s first and foremost thanks to the quality of the equipment produced by France’s MIC. Capabilities which surely aren’t represented in this game, thanks to Gaijin’s allergy to France.

You’re telling me that as soon as politics influence arms exports, shares owned by a country in the global sales of arms aren’t reflective whatsoever of the quality of the arms produced by said country.
So according to you, anyone not buying weapons from the USA (possibly because of political reasons) turns to France … Or, if the USA aren’t the issue, anyone turning to France to buy weapons solely do it for political reasons … and for no other reasons whatsoever, and certainly not quality. So according to you France might as well be selling sticks and rocks, as long as there is a political reason justifying it.

… And I’m the one with the flawed reasoning here ? Irony is dead. No point in arguing with someone who can’t even grasp the idea that within a bid proposition for military equipment, politics are only a part of a larger whole, and that politics certainly do not exclude other considerations, especially not the most important one: the quality and capabilities of the equipment at stake.

Now, I wonder who’s unable to have a serious conversation.

I would like to report a hijacking of my thread 😉

How about the possibilities for a high tier French premium ground vehicle in the next update…arms sales debates can maybe go to a different thread.

Sadly, this is not the first occurrence of German players hijacking threads, they just can’t help themselves.

To come back to the thread : according to Smin’s, Gaijin is waiting for France’s top tier to be more “fleshed-out” before adding a premium Leclerc.
As if during the last 4 years, they hadn’t only added copies of the same MBT and a single SPAA …

So it seems we may be getting a premium Leclerc later rather than sooner.
As with everything related to France in War Thunder: don’t get your hopes up!

This actually might be the first time, that I see someone ask for a high (top in fact) tier premium to be added to their relatively well performing & non-“infected” nation. Did y’all figure out something?

Oh I would, I play German air & France’s ground :')

The only hope we have for leclercs to receive meaningful fixes in less than 6 months would be by having some premium ruining the matchmaker

oh you think they will do murica buff 1.0 but to france ?

Not just murika. Despite having terrible score, Russia has been used to having some of the most broken top tier lineups until recently for like 2-3 years. Germany (and its baby boy Sweden) are also in this situation.

but the difference with russia is
they find some source written in hieroglyphs ? and its 100% real.
or just make up stuff to buff russia and nerf anything else ;)
Also let’s not talk about the leopards that get nerfed with every small update …

Sorry for that, if you open the spoiler you might be amused like i was when i read post #5, #17, #27 and #32.

Especially if the person openly admits that he violates ToS by using at least 2 accounts - and uses both accounts in the same squad.

Reply regarding unfunded claims of connecting premium vehicles to irl weapon sales, motivated by wrong assumptions
  1. Your posts (#5, 17 & 27) simply sounded like a blind man talking about colors; amusing at best and causing imho obviously unintended hilarity.

  2. You might be thinking about changing your profession and become a comedian - as you have actual skills to make other people laughing out loud just by using unintended humor. Imagine if you try to use intended humor…

  3. But, i decided to simply ignore you - but #29 was so amusing:

… that i almost spitted out my coffee whilst reading it.

You proved with just one sentence that you are unable for any serious exchange.

Why?

  • It looks like you tried to classify me as “German player”. This has the same effect on me as if you would claim that i would collect purple tupperware: Zero.

  • I have no business with people playing any nation in this game - but you have obviously a kind of minority complex vs other nations, that explains your attitude. A small vehicle check and you might have noticed that i played Germany around 3-400 times of my ~15.000+ battles.

  • So jumping to conclusions without having having actual knowledge about things is just proving my first impression - you spread opinions and not facts.

  • This explains your attempts trying to connect current irl weapon sales with premium vehicle distribution amongst nations in wt - this alone makes no sense, but as you obviously thought i would be a German main it looks like that you just see connections where no connections exist.

  • This de-validates your opinions as you lost your credibility.

  • Therefore i won’t spend my time to enlighten you and debunk the rest of your nonsense.

  • But i recommend to look up the Dunning-Kruger effect.

Off topic

Despite i have a clear disadvantage vs your talents as comedian - i’d like to share this with you:

There is a difference between people talking about electrolytes - and people know what electrolytes are.

A short reminder:

Edit due flagging attack: If i reply to a side aspect of a thread (like here claiming a higher share of premium vehicles based on export volumes) and elaborate why these claims have no impact on player numbers which actually determine demand and subsequent offers of premium vehicles - i see this as off-topic in the broader sense, but not regarding the credibility of such claims.

If somebody insists of claiming that these export data would bear any kind of relevance and is obviously motivated by other topics and is just spreading opinions, i will reply to nonsense posts any day of the weak. Especially if these opinions are based on wrong assumptions and are accompanied by useless attempts trying to look smart.

I hate that.

For years they didn’t worked at all on this lineup/rank, we are the only country without any playable 10.0/11.0 lineup in the game, and it’s one of their excuse to not give us a premium ? How convenient.

I think they just don’t want the French winrate to go low thanks to high rank premium, since they really love to use the “yeah but your stats are good so no need for buff/vehicle/work/whatever”. Our winrate/stats have always be our big problem with Gaijin. Higher BR, higher repair cost, everything come from that, it’s remove the average player to play this harder TT, and up always more the stats since only the good player stay, so less player = need less work.

I also love how they said giving a Leclercs premium is not possible because they don’t add top rank/top tier premium (as if the 5 pre-prod Leclercs don’t exist), and few days after saying that, they add the F-20 to the US.

I mean would enough people buy and play a premium leclerc or other rank 7/8 vehicle to do that?
