Alright so basically I am currently grinding out France and I would like to hear some plane recommendations from you guys to max out my grind. Please tell me why you’ve suggested the plane and you can also suggest which rank VII jet is good. Thanks for any suggestions!
I am currently mostly playing Hunter and I spaded it because I feel like this is simply a good plane at this BR and I like it. I’ve tried playing F-100D but I feel like this is simply pain because of the constant up tiers where you meet better missiles and everything, while no countermesaures.

I recommend going for the Mirage IIIE, yes you have to suffer a little bit with the Mirage IIIC with no CMs but it’s not too bad, you are a Mirage after all.
After that you get the Mirage F1C, it’s the same as the premium version so take anything from that and it applies here. Magic 2s are nice.
The best of the best is the Mirage 2000, at 12.3 the thing is a beast and really needs to go up to 12.7, it is the ultimate F-14 balancer. Then of course you got the 13.7 mirage with MICAs which is pretty good. The Rafale will most likely come to this line too once it is added.

Realistically the hunter is the best plane there, the F-100 is kinda mid. Good luck and happy grinding!

Well. Time did change a lot (I did grind the tech tree with the vautour when aim 9b were the only missiles in game).
For now I’d say :

Alpha jet is not to bad of a grinder. It can get bases with bombs and napalm. I found it a bit frustrating tho. It is still a good plane overall, as it can dogfight pretty well, but isn’t great either. I have not played the hunter, but it should not be to bad.
F100D. Heeeh, I don’t think it’s worth it. I have grinded all French tech tree since years ago and still have not spaded it as I find it so underwhelming. But who knows, 9.3 it might be playable

Mirage IIIC is not that great since it lacks countermeasures. Better skip it and grind the IIIE. If you don’t want to bother with the folder, Mirage 5BA is a decent option. It’s a worse IIIE in dogfight but it can bomb bases. Super Etendard is not great in air battles, but the first true high tier CAS in my opinion.
F-8E : skip it
Mirage 5F : good, but closer to a discounted 5BA since it does not have flares. At a lower BR, but still to high for it I think (same as all flare less mirages).
Mirage F1s are okay. The F1CT has better RWR so I’d pick it for a later grind, and skip the regular F1C. You lose one gun but that’s not to problematic. F1CT is capable (not great, but capable) of dogfighting and can bomb bases for the grind. Jaguar A is a good CAS but with no ground lineup yet. While I like it, I’d suggest to skip it for now.

I have not played the Benelux line beyond the F104G, but all the jets are good, including F104, both for grind and fun.
All Mirage 2000 and 4000 are also worth it. The 4000 can bomb base and wreck enemy teams (if you don’t get up tiered to AMRAAM land), and Mirage 2000C-S5 is great and does not fight top tier, so that’s a plus if you don’t like fighting Fox 3s.
All in all, IMO, you are in the worst portion of the grind (8.7-10.3), and after that things get much more interesting. It’s not that the planes are bad, but the br is very unforgiving with supersonics and 30g missiles flying around your subsonic, flawless jets. You will soon learn to hate the F104A and Mig21 (PFM ?) as well as the su25s and A10s, but after that you’ll dunk on said su25s and A10s in your mirages, so hang on

My options are a bit allover the place I know. I did not talk about the fastest route to unlock top tier, but, imo, one of the more enjoyable way. If you want to reach top tier fast, as said before the left line with mirage IIIC, IIIE, F1C and mirage 2000s is the best French line. The right one with the Mirage 5BA, F104G and F16s is also very strong, but with foreign jets, so I’d personally not do it first (cause why grind France if you play US jets lol)
