Fragile German planes

German planes are just unplayable now, I go in my bomber and just got my entire wing from my fuselage to the end of the wing from 1 .50 cal bullet multiple times. And other times my entire tail just falls off from a 7.62 shot.

Wake up zoomer.
Its not about german planes, its about bombers.

Happened in strike aircraft too.

German strike aircraft arent that much of a thing.
Also pretty much all messers have weak reinforcements in wings. Basically a single longeron.

But a single .50 cal shot or only a dozen 7.62 rounds shouldn’t evaporate my plane, and I’m not exaterating.

Thats debatable. I can assure you that game has some troubles of unsynchronized shooting in air game modes, so when you see tracers they dont always mean the bullet went same way same time. It might be half a second difference, but it is difference. Plus with many planes, they have tracer-less ammunition in their belts mixed with tracers. Them P-51C planes for example have belts with 4 tracerless + 1 tracer. I use that on them. So seing one bullet hit a wing might mean that it was at least 5.

I’m not an idiot, I only heard 1 bullet and if I did take more then one it would have played the damage sound multiple times. The wing snapped off at once without playing the damage sound effect so That would mean I was only hit once.

nuh uh. As i said the game has sync problems pretty much

Or by 6 shots at the same time 😉

thats what i said

Another thing is that people might have hit your bombs and “ammo racked” your bomber.

It can happen very easily with .50 cals.

Even with early belts like those of the P-40.

Also if anything, german bombers are on the sturdier side simply due to the Ju-288 being a german premium. It’s not much, but it exists!

this isnt a german issue. this is an overall issue.

.50 cal overperforms, by a lot.

bombers are weak as hell too

I cannot recommend the bomber, as it lacks offensive weaponry and would be vulnerable to fierce aerial rocket attacks; therefore, its role would be meaningless. Once subjected to a heavy aerial missile attack, the bomber would be utterly defenseless; the losses would be extremely heavy. I cannot say that I recommend the bomber; as saying that would be foolish.

Everything is super fragile.

1 20mm HE can absolutely mess up a 8,5 ton Do-335. Which is ridiculous.

2-3 .50 bullets to the wing will completely destroy Ta-152Hs ability to dogfight.

At the same time Soviet aircraft are protected by plywood bug 2.0.
It’s all pretty damn bad.

How

110, 410, 335’s are very common a/c at their BR’s

Also no-one actually knows how many shots they are hit by - the game does NOT make a separate sound for every bullet, and a short burst of .50’s should be able to destroy a wing spar and remove that wing from the aircraft.

Without going to a replay and looking at that specific damage there is no way of knowing exactly what happened. And the … er… the OP shows no signs of having done so.

The devs call it “balance” but in reality, it is just this game being a primitive, arcadey, & biased joke. A good example of this is the game’s He 111 H, all of which suffer from non-existent health points (durability) because the devs decided for it to be so. Uptiered pre-war mono/biplanes & other equivalent craft armed exclusively with 7.5, 7.62, 7.7, or 7.92 mm cap guns are dubiously capable of easily chasing one down in this game &, if that wasn’t bad enough, they then proceed to rip off entire wings or empennages by firing a paltry amount of magically overpowered 7 mm rounds that were historically found to be insufficient & lacking. This is just plane™ retarded & has no basis in reality. If anyone dares to report aircraft health issues or the 7 mm exploding wings/tails off of bombers on the bug website, they will simply lock it with: “Not A Bug” since, in their mind, their game is working as intended

try the FW-190 F8. it a fighter that can carry more bombs + airspawn. Just don’t carry any bombs and climb. it a reaaly great plane.

My favourite memory of WT damage model was when my Su-2 lost its tail from a Bf 109 E-1 shooting at me from behind.

I destroyed his engine while he couldn’t penetrate the armor plates protecting my gunners and pilots but then my tail just broke off from his MG fire.

Bruh. At least rip my wing by turning the spar into swiss cheese but how in the world does a tail gets seperated from bullets flying through it.

Might be myth, but I distinctly recall somewhere a justification made by gaijin that cutting off tail controls made players feel frustrated, so damage model was made to emphasize flashy tail separation rather than a slow plummet into the ground.

(if one looked inside the 109’s tail section for instance (through American heritage museum’s walkaround video), the idea of cutting control cables apart by lobbying a HE shell into the tail section sounds waaaay more plausible.

Might be a big game of telephone tho.
