Challenger suffer immensely from overly large forehead syndrome. Easy HE or Dart through the roof.
Your not able to make it to any competitive hills with Challenger since they are unreasonable slow. Either die before you make there or the game is already decided and your spot is now useless. Coupled with the fact the Mantlet takes up 1/3 of the turret face which is at this point, intentionally modeled to be bad. Thanks Gaijin.
Depending on how you view it, Challengers can be argued to have a worse hull ammo placement then T-Series tanks. Any vertical ammo T-series tanks have a good chance of shots going in between shells. Any shot through the front will generally ammo rack a Challenger. That goes without saying any L27A1 Challenger can’t be turret ammo racked as a benefit.
Coming back around to this, sitting behind hills and playing campy is nearly the only way to play the Challengers but sitting behind hills with slow heavy tanks are not fit for top tier meta where up-armoured MBTs with better speed, shells, responsiveness etc just dominate. T72B3 fits more into the top tier meta more then Challengers ever will but there are better options, T-80 BVM / T-90M. Just as there a better Challengers then the base CR2s, CR2E / BN. Even then only 2E has the mobility to somewhat play like other meta MBTs yet inherits all of the poor traits of the base CR2s.
And Im not even going to mention the dumpster fire that the CR3 TD is.
Well if any top MBT was the best, I’d take the Leo2a7v, the T-90M isn’t even that good as it’s just as slow as the T72B3 or chally, with a poor reverse gear and set fixed reload rate it terrible.
You have to rely on armor that is t really even “armor” anymore, as everyone hits the weak spots pretty perfectly. At least if the chally’s. Gun is hit, it can retreat.
If I had to rank overall tech trees best to worst (in performance of tanks in game) I’d say:
Italy has the Leopard 2A7 now and the ariettes have a 5 second reload with DM53 and have overall better mobility than the CR2s. Yes challys have slightly better armour, but barely. Just have to aim slightly better Vs a CR2. They also have slightly better CAS than britain with their harrier II able to take AMRAAM. Only thing they are really weaker than Britain at at the moment is SPAA, but the ADATS is hardly good either.
(Heck, don’t they even have FnF AGMs on their heli, whilst Britain is still stuck with hellfires)

Leopard 2A7 is a meta tank
Ariete might be a glass canon, but it’s a good glass canon (5 second reload DM53)
good CAS with good multirole ability
FnF AGM armed helis
No SAM, only SPAAG
okay but not great ifv
Vs
CR2, slowest tank at top tier, with weaker shells than most (and a tiny ready rack, so on average lower RoF than most) only real advantage is better optics
CR3, lower RoF, less armour and is slower than an Ariete
We don’t even know what the fox nerfs are going to be yet. So crying about it not moving is just sad. Will probably be a worse gun than the BTR after tomorrow
Blud will never live that down amongst other poor takes of his. Why anyone takes anything he has to say with any consideration these days is beyond me.
I had a quick scan and saw he tried comparing, what looked like a t72 of some kind, to a challenger and said they had comparable weak spots… After that i think i can conclude this man is either insane or gas lighting us for fun as no one can be that… stupid (apparently your not allowed to say the r word or swear anymore as people will flock to flag your comment, a bit sad).
He tried to argue to me that the Su-39 with R-77s at 12.0 wouldnt be very good and things like the Phantom FGR2 would win in BVR combat vs it all the time.
Yeah, his takes are clinically insane and fueled by his rock hard boner for the ghost of Stalin.
Also, yes, you can’t logically slap him around too much or he’ll go crying to mods about it. Having his bad takes dissected thoroughly and being critiqued is something he can’t handle. He’s on track to getting himself blacklisted by the community in regards to engagement if this is how he’s gonna act. I’d say it’s sad, but it’s honestly expected and repeatedly experienced behavior from IvanBoos. This is exactly why nobody likes them.
Moving on, again I’ll say; The Fox is fine where it is. Anyone having a hate boner for it is either just a Britain hater or suffers a massive skill issue.
