Found a fix for the "high ping" issue, but why is it needed?

So I have noticed lately my ping has been 130+, So I randomly changed the game to “high priority” on task manager and it fixed the ping issue, But why do I even need to do this in the first place? Its rather annoying because I have to manually do this every time I open the game.

specs are as follows:
Ryzen 5 7600x
7800xt GPU
M.2 drive
Wired internet (1 gig fiber)

I feel this is more coincidental than anything considering your prior issues.
