Today, we’ll be showing you a new Roadmap feature that has just been implemented into the game: a notification of when a player that you reported has been banned. This works for players that were reported in-game as well as for those reported via the replay service on our website.
From now on, if a player that you reported gets banned, you’ll get a window with a notification letting you know when you log into the game. We’ve also added a new tab to the messages window called “System notifications” that contains messages about banned players that you reported. An important note here is that all notifications are anonymized, since personal data legislation in many countries obliges us to do this.
In the meantime, we’re continuing to work on new features from the Roadmap, with a few of them coming with the release of the Dance of Dragons major update. Keep an eye out for more news!
Very very nice to see. I hope gaijin will take this one step further to levels like CSGO had it, where the players get actively involved in the review process.
… but shis part really sounds like a completely bogus excuse when we get lists of tens of thousands of banned players (player ID + currently used name) released every few months
I think we should tell banned users their ID, why they’ve been banned, and for how long, right in the notification. You put out a ban list(Fair Play) every now and then, so why not just tell players this stuff straight away? Why make them hunt through those long, boring lists?
This news item is confusing. It says it’s about bans, but the image text says the player was “blocked”. Blocked from… Chat? Does the notification text change if it’s a temporary chat ban for chat offenses or a permanent game ban for cheating? Because those are different things.
Is there a reason you can’t say more about the duration? A three day block from chat and a lifetime game ban are very different things as well. Since you’ve anonymized the player you shouldn’t need to anonymize the offense, you could just give the rule number from the TOS, which could help encourage people to y’know, read them.
I’m sure you were reported many times in the past, like every other player. It’s sometimes enough to just kill someone to be reported.
If more than 10 different players report you in one day, you will receive the following message:
But this message doesn’t mean you will get banned. It just means that more than 10 players reported you, usually because you “played too well”. I see such message from time to time and in my opinion it only shows how weird some players are. Especially if you look at the reasons I was reported.
I don’t even use chat, but I was still reported for “Chat Spamming” and “Foul Language”.
A bit of a wording complaint:
“A player was blocked from one of your complaints.”
Has a misplaced modifier making the sentence mean something else than intended.
If sentence structure is to be kept:
“A player was blocked(change to: “banned” ?) thanks to one of your complaints.”
Is more correct.
Otherwise:
“Thanks to your complaint, action has been taken against a player that has broken the rules.”
Is more encompassing (Although I’m uncertain about the formatting in this specific example).
