By the way, didn’t the French receive anti-ship missiles via the AM39 Exocet missiles on the Rafale and Mirage fighters?

F14b cant stop winning this update.
No, my friend, the early versions of the AGM45 were extremely limited in range and were single-band… they’re quite similar to what Gajin is adding to the MiG-27s. I would really like a more concrete and official answer, not just a guess.
Nice
But next devblog has to be for F-15E RMP pls
Really like this new mechanic!
I wonder how the other missiles would perform with this mechanic in the future
Hope the update comes very very soon
Hello, @Smin1080p_WT
Will the fin AOA and/or fin stats be fixed for the PL-12 in order to let it acheive its previous performance? currently it cannot reliably pull mroe than 25G at any range and condition and ive only managed a grand total of 1 scenario in which it pulled 30G for 0.3 seconds but never its full 38G even for dogfight scenarios.
Before anyone says it, we tested it at sea level (<1000m), 2500m, 5000m, 10000m and the results are the same, it can not pull its stated Gs. we also launched at a variety of speeds.
I’m very excited to see these changes and correct me if im wrong but does this mean dual plane G overload is finally coming to the game? (judging by Pheonix overload buff).
Please never add MITL to helis. You can legit sit in full cover and still kill ground units. SPAA/SAMs cannot see you or target you.
This should never come. The developers need to just completely scrape the idea of adding MITL to helicopters as they act as LOAL with their DEV server implementation.
Not even drastic changes will prevent it from being abused and lead to a helicopter being completely and utterly immune to any and all SPAAs via terrain masking.
With planes MITL is for the most part fine because the planes carrying MITL capable missiles lack VTOL and as such can not just waste too much time in the MITL screen without being vulnerable to other planes or even getting spotted by ground radars and fired upon.
It is significantly harder to remain in multipath/out of LOS of enemy threats and at the same time within the LOS of the MITL capable cruise missile/glide bomb.
Helicopters do not have this issue as they can simply just hover at 11m height in god knows where and guide the missile in without a care in the world.
They can do so near helipad for infinite restocks (something SPAAs dont have the luxury of depending on the state of the match) without ever showing themselves.
Whats worse even the general defense of “it takes longer to lock onto target adding more time between the missiles than when fired in LOS” isnt even a good counterargument as what you are able to do is spam-fire all your missiles towards the battlefield and only guide in the last one. The SPAA is not going to know if the missiles are duds or are heading for the vehicle and will waste ammo on all of them, eventually running out.
And you can do so from the safety of your helipad. An experted helicopter takes only 13 second to rearm.
Thats every 13 second a barrage of 8-16 missiles coming over the horizon and you have to figure out if all of them are duds but the last one or if they are actually tracking. Good luck.
Its an extremely unfair, extremely easy strategy to do, providing 0 skill or anything whatsoever, simply just spamming all missiles and killing by draining the SPAAs of all of theirs
This can literally be negated by helicopters not being made invisible on radar when they hover (by detecting their rotors instead) and/or the IRIS-T’s (and others, if applicable) missiles being buffed to its realistic performance
Those are literally the only two things that need to happen to (re)introduce MITL to helis without as much outrage towards there being no counter play against them
missing about 100m/s velocity at high altitude and overperforming by around the same amount at low level

Is the PL-12 included here?
Even with the rotor change youll be able to hide behind terrain away from SPAAs. It wont change anything about:
The increased rotor radar signature and actual HOJ/DL until impact on SLM should be added one way or another, helicopters should not be able to just glide sideways and be immune to ARH and IR top tier missiles, but it wouldnt change anything for MITL helicopters
what day will the update drop
Looking like thursday
being able to outroll a missile is insulting. Be it sparrows or PL12s.
This isnt AIM9B where a little movement makes it lose track, they should be capable of not getting bamboozled by a corkscrew when they have a direct line of sight within no escape zone or slightly past no escape zone.
exactly
PL-12/SD-10a and PL-12a are in no way so lackluster in terms of their overload capability in real life.
its just absurd that the OEM would market it as a dogfight missile yet it in WT it just isnt capable of dogfighting (reminder, analysts compared base PL-12 to amraam C performance in terms of range so its not even an early generation Fox-3, its pretty advanced)
Hopefully this also improves R-77 high altitude performance.
were extremely limited in range and were single-band…
the AGM-45B-10 that’s in the files has a multi-band seeker that’s E to I band iirc
