Some people feel bad from flying with cockpit view. That doesn’t mean Sim Battles must be removed.
Just dont play it.
Just turn motion blur off. There will be setting for it.
As it was before years ago.
Not only that: Motion blur is what happens to a camera.
The human eye can “look pretty fast” without suffering motion blur effect, so forcinga motion blur effect may be good to simulate a camera for screenshots or videos, but to actually play, nah.
How much Dev time did they waste on this?
Spend, not wasted.
One point of interest that many seem to miss about the discussion on motion blur:
It’s not only about visual quality or effectiveness of gameplay.
I personally get VERY seasick from motion blur in games, i literally HAVE to turn it off to be able to play almost any game. I have in the past refunded purchased games because i couldn’t play it due to the motion blur that could not be turned off.
I do however not have any of those issues in WT as i can turn it off :)
Motion Blur option will be switched off for consoles.
Time spent on something of no value could be considered time wasted.
Yep. Ive done the same. I couldnt play Star wars fallen order for example until I found a mod that turned off motion blur, but many others I just had to give up and refund the game.
Nothing is worse than a game where the settings dont exist or barely work. Fingers crossed Motion blur remains totally disabable
i cant get into the dev server for some reason
Its closed. It was only open for a very limited second window. Hopefully means the update will drop next monday/tuesday
Even today, movies are made with a frame rate of 24 FPS. This is because a lower frame rate eliminates unnecessary realism and feels more artistic.
However, 24 FPS footage without motion blur looks extremely choppy, and adding motion blur caused by the camera shutter creates a well-produced image.
Therefore, adding motion blur to games would be useful when creating a war movie-style montage.
PS: Considering the part about the wheel not drawing well, drawing at 24 FPS would lower the sampling frequency of the motion vector, which would result in strange blurring of objects that move nonlinearly, so it doesn’t seem like it will be that simple.
I’ll have to test it to see if it’s as good as Need for Speed Shift’s motion blur.
Of course realistic features like this are appreciated, even if I don’t use them for random battles.
Depends on if you focus on an object or not.
Best shown when on a road trip as a passenger passing by guard railing/fencing.
Focusing on one part of the fence = clear; focusing on an object ahead of or behind the fence = blurred.
The motion blur is a great addition. Fast vehicles would actually look fast, loved it.
When it comes to a sense of speed I personally think that motion blur will highlight that. On the other end using it for active gameplay will hurt you effectiveness.
This is an addition that never crossed my mind, good job devs and in excited to see what comes next :D
Schit
But thanks
When update drops, before I go through the new vehicles, I will have to find the option to turn this abomination off…
Thank you Gaijin.
Motion blur honestly serves no purpose, other than to conceal bad graphics and give you motion sickness. It’s good for racing games when you want to convey speed, but anything else is just bad for gameplay.
this is so dumb, you clearly know nothing about graphics. per object/per pixel motion blur look a million times better than what you imagine as “motion blur”. look at this digital foundry video to learn more about the subject https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXIrSTMgJ9s
this is a great feature that will make the game look amazing and next gen
It’s nothing like camera motion blur that you’re used to
Well, sad to see even a fraction of dev time and in turn possibly (but doubtful) why the update is behind the usual release time may be because of this nearly universally hated option.
