Firebirds: Motion Blur in War Thunder

for chinematics? its still funny that many movies still have massive motion blur, while in real life the human eye and brain is able to stablise the background if not too fast or the distance to the background not too close to the focused object

how, blur means less details, while sharp image means that i can detect and indentify movement sharper
edir: in a headon you might not see the enemy sharp so you might not be able to predict movement

This will be fun for jets.

Because only objects moving relative to the camera are blurred.

Have you ever tried to see a plane flying nearby against the terrain at low altitude? There is a complete mess of pixels without blur with which another plane merges.
You can blink and lose sight of it.
With motion blur terrain at low altitude will be blurred and another plane will stay more sharp.

when i have played in marker less modes at low terrain i mostly was in dogfights, where you mostly drop realy fast in speed, which would revert the motion blur anyways

i regulary drop below 200km/h in the ajs37 in dogfights, also i fear to oversee a tree with motion blur on than loosing track of a target

Thanks

As long as it can be totally and completely disabled it’s fine. Motion blur gives me a headache and nothing worse than games where it can’t be turned off

You see plane here, right?

We are moving at approximately the same speed, so it will stay sharp against blurred terrain.

But now it’s just a pixels on pixels mess.

Motion blur is one of the first things that is being turned of when launching a new game

And then you turn off grass, then you turn off shadows.
And the you’d turn off textures to see enemies better if it was possible, right? )

Nope, I’m playing with movie settings. Motion blur just looks awful

When it worked in 2013-2014 it looked very good. It was off for 10 years, I don’t know why.

In another game it looks cool. I never turn it off.

It’s a pretty subjective topic I must say. I even have it of in DCS as well

i think the mess will be even more because the amount of pixel of the aircraft wont increase but the amount of strech out colur mix, because the brown ground will mix with the tree

your picture uas way less motion blur than those provided by the dev blog

They just wanted to show it at max power.

On dev server there was a slider setting for its intensity.

I’ll turn it off because motion blur gives me literal headaches and gives me really bad eye strain.

I’ve found that the case for a lot of people I’ve spoken to about other games where motion blur isn’t able to be turned off or turned off fully. You’d be surprised by the lengths people will go to to disabled it. I’ve even had to edit game files before to turn off motion blur

I’ve never known anyone to use or like motion blur, but as long as it can be disabled it’s whatever I guess, doesn’t seem like something that needs development time spend on tho.
