If we would speak F-18’s in general , 9m is valid point in historically accurate perspective.
BUT WE ARE TALKING EXCLUSIVELY FINNISH F-18 and F/A-18 IN THIS TOPIC WHAT YOU CANT UNDERSTAND.
And FINNISH has never used (BOUGHT) 9M’s or 9L’s FROM USA SO IT CANT BE HISTORICALLY ACCURATE THAT FINNISH F-18 IS USING AIM 9M’s .
Hope you can finally understand the point of this conversation.
And PS. Stop trying to place words in my mouth, I’ve never wrote, that I would hate that loadout
Yeah I know balancing reasons, and no way Devs would bring some new top tier iron on minor nation.
But is it historically accurate that THAI alpha jet is using mauser? Nope it is not.
But now when AIM 9x is coming on game there is hope it will come in aircrafts also.
Many of what I’ve been seeing from this post this is that ALOT of people don’t want a “Historical” or “Realistic” representation of the Finnish F-18C MLU 2 they just want “Balancing”.
From All of Gaijin’s Marketing I see “Most Historical”, “Most Realistic” being said and that’s what I want over Balancing.
The Fact Is there are other Jets and Helicopters and Tanks and Boats that Aren’t Historically or Realistically being represented at the moment I want this too change and I do believe we should start here with the MLU 2 and the 9X. The 9X IS IN THE GAME now be it only for ground and only this update but why RISK all that they are marketing for the sake of “Balancing”, WHEN IT IS IN THE GAME.
For god’s sake the R-73 is in the game, The 1st block of 9X is quite similar too the R-73. The oldest 9x isn’t some LOAL, High-off Bore sight made yesterday. We’re already ready for it too be added. AND IT IS ADDED
The Finnish F-18 shouldn’t come with CAS capabilities because historically it didn’t have it until the second thingy!
The Finnish F-18 can use AIM 9Ls and 9Ms even though it historically never used them, but it’s called BALANCING!
Exactly, now we have two of the exact same plane at 14.0 (not even foldered mind you) because… some weirdo wanted to roleplay as a Hornet that Finland had for a wee bit before putting bombs on, instead of just… flying around without a CAS loadout.
By that logic give it AIM-9P5 and remove the Maverick Gs from the gripen c since sweden is broke and can’t afford to buy those missiles.
Sounds like a fair deal to me
( Cry me a river lmfao)
AirRB isnt ready for aim9X. Lets not rush ahead and add aim9X to a single plane just because Finland didnt buy anything else.
HOWEVER, F18C should have gotten its air to ground under the same logic as its getting its aim9M. But its a weird mix between balance and historical accuracy, as seen with alot of the top tier fighters
FGR.4 Typhoon only mounted asraam and meteor. Again, its got its aim9M for balance over accuracy. I still believe they should have added earlier versions of the Typhoon to avoid this. its not just one aircraft getting shafted, its Gaijins balancing choices for the whole game.
The biggest offender is the Kfir C.10, it never mounted python 3 but python 4 is currently a bit too powerful for the game.
I could go on but im sure youll see the point im making.
Yep, and still keep it BR14.0/12.7
Unlike su-34 what is sitting in BR 13.3/13.0
Those 9X would be only reason to keep it on 14.0 in air and 13.0 on ground games. But that is balance :D
In current state that Finnish F18 could sit in 13.7 and 12.3 on ground
But if I rememebr right sweden actually used mavericks.
They were coded as RB 75.
And on Gripen C , there is a bit more of IR missiles compared to 9P5 what it is using actually.
So yeah, go back to that river and keep sailing away
Not the Gs though.
It’s literally a cope medicine the devs gave to the plane cause sweden only ever used Mav As and Mav As modified with SAP warheads.
So crap tracking and crap FoV.
I do however still say that the AIM-9P-5 would be the best option for the F-18C FIN, it’s just a shorter ranged AIM-9M. The 9Xs can wait, not like IR meta exist nor will it ever come back either.
“The Pentagon has decided to extend the Foreign Comparative Test assessment of the Swedish Bol chaff dispensing system for the U.S. Air Force’s F-15 as the U.S. Navy considers expanding its use of the system from F-14s to F/A-18s”
In other words, they considered but there is no proof of them using them on the F/A-18
I would love it too, but unlikely and not realistic
