FFA P-16: History, Performance & Discussion

Haven’t found a thread of the P-16 to start with, other than the annoncement, so I opted to open a new one.

After some battles GroundRB and AirSB

Its a nice aircraft but is no dogfighter. Trying to engage an A-4E or a Mig15 is like when you engage an F-5E with the Milan. You are going to be outperformed.

As an attacker it is good. As a fighter like with the Milan, in AirSB you can hit something in AirRB sorry, wrong game mode.

No CM is bad, really, at BR9.0

Like I stated already in the DEV it sits better at BR 8.7 than 9.0

Its worth the cash, to encourage other skilled enthusiastic players to design such an aircraft and make WT more appealing for us. Like with the Milan, nice premium but not the very best.

There are no 9.0 (RB) aircraft with CMs

Alpha jet A, A-4E, Yak-28B, Buccaneer S2, Q-5A, A-4E(Early)M, A-4N. of those, the A-4E, A-4E(N), Alpha Jet A are 8.7, the Yak-28B, Bucc, and Q-5A are 9.3

Ah yes, because 9.0 is the same as 9.3…

Played the P-16 in a first Sim EC match yesterday: Solid base bomber, able to finish two bases easily with its 4 napalm bombs, and you can use the 44 internal rockets against almost-finished bases other players may not have been able to destroy completely.

Works also well as attacker in ground battle missions, using the bombs with the BT-9 bomb computer works well, and you can bring quite a lot of rockets.

AIM-9B’s are ok for self defense, but for sure the P-16 is not a dogfighter.

Handling is nice, very stable, but at lower speeds I find it a bit “bumpy”, especially e.c. during final.
