May ‘45. The Red Army has reached the famous Reichstag and the war is nearly over. For those who don’t know, Berlin in War Thunder is based on the actual layout of the area during the Second World War. We worked on keeping this authentic layout, all while updating the graphics and models of the location. Every building and structure has been reworked from the ground-up to ensure they look as high quality and authentic as possible. You may have noticed we’ve added more grass and trees, making the map look generally more green. To do this, we looked at historical photos from 1945 and saw that there was still a lot of grass and trees amongst the bomb craters and destruction.

The look and textures of bomb craters, fire and mud have all been improved and revised.
Please test the location and leave your feedback here!
Thank you!

The rework is very nice, the team did an amazing job on this one!
There’s a few issues though…
The B-4 to C-5 side become significantly worse. While the team at the bottom part of the map can easily get into their sniping positions to the right side of the spawn, the team at the top of the map not only lost their sniping spot but also now have a lot of obstructions and having to plow through trees with no visibility when trying to reach the rear of the Reichstag, something that the other team can also still do with almost complete safety.
This can be solved by clearing the riverside path at the right side of the top team’s spawn (B-4 to D-6 squares) and increasing the elevation of where the trees are planted, creating some amount of cover at least for half of the way towards the rear of the Reichstag
Also please remove the “return to battlefield” area from the river, it is really not necessary

Would have preferred if the old look was kept with updated graphics.
The rework is great and a massive improvement, the only issue is that the south spawn can be shot into from many locations that don’t take very long for the north team to get to

Why not extend the map? It would become much more interesting
