The war has now reached the right bank of the Rhine. The ancient city here has survived a series of air raids and now its cobblestone streets with the ruins of buildings and the ghosts of abandoned trams have become a real battlefield.

We’ve updated the graphics for one of the most popular city locations in War Thunder! Our artists have replaced the building models and completely updated the textures on this location, all while preserving the navigation, capture points and cover locations familiar among players. Advance to the Rhine has received many decorative elements in the design of the streets for greater historical authenticity, and the vegetation has been updated and adjusted.

Looks really good. The visual updates y’all have been putting out have been fairly amazing given the age of the game. I am a bit curious to see what the grey box of this map looks like given the sheer number objects you can drive into/over but nice work so far.

These new map quality standards are outstanding- map assets and enviornment is a HUGE part of the game’s visuals.
The artists are doing a great job with these, I hope we will be seeing more of these every update!

It looks great but I think that adding a little bit of smoke coming from the upper windows of some of the more intact buildings would be really cool
So my only gripe with this map is the large sections on rubble need to be more unique, it legit just looks like a copy paste texture terraformed into random shapes, if these are bombed out budlings add broken inferior items hanging out, like sinks, baths, broken chairs, tables , a piano, doors, door frames, sections of windows, drawer stacks, bookcases the list goes on. (ALSO in D6 at the edge on the park next to the road there’s a bomb crater between two destroyed buildings near the cap point the textures are floating in the air around the crater)
The map rework is great, but, adding more assets won’t change playable area in the map, but I loved the false open sections, yet, restricted, it feels like the game gives to the player more room and it doesn’t makes the map looks like a arena without exit.
map (how i play) is basically the same minus one spawncamp spot so ill skip that feedback
Looks really really good but i do find pretty yellow trams next to bombed out buildings to be a little bit of an odd artistic choice.
Cologne Cathederal also lookes too clean and white. The model itself is bloody gorgeous however it looks like its made of a clean Ancaster Limestone when its really mostly made of trachyte and sandstone which are darker and yellowish stones respectively. The older models colour palette was more accurate to the actual building. The map is also based on the battle of cologne so this was a period of time where the city could not afford to scrub the walls to be bright and sparkly

Looks good, but there are several visual problems. First — hatches on the tram rails all over the map! They look really strange!
Second — fences all over the map placed quite neglectful. Both problems are really old, and they haven’t been fixed during map rework.
There are some other visual problems, but I suppose, they are quite subjective so I don’t mention them.
In my opinion, the Abandoned factory map was reworked much more careful.
I would rate this rework 6.5/10, where “10” is the “Abandoned factory” rework.
Thank you for attention!
