FCS Advanced Features on MBT's and Realistic Sights

Realistic Sight Presets
Currently in War Thunder, there are only a handful real-life sights that can be selected in-game [u]without mods from WT Live[u] such as the Cold War era “T-series” sight for Soviet and Russian tanks, Leopard 2 and Abrams sight just to name a few.

A screenshot showing the current available sights in-game*

There are multiple sights that are not present in-game, with some not even being on WT Live either. I would propose for Gaijin to add more historical sight presets in-game that people can freely select to put on any tank with their own unique function, e.g the German WW2 Ziess gunner sight features a rotating wheel that changes corresponding to the distance. If you’re wondering on how to access these sights simply go to: Options → Sight Settings

Unique FCS Functions and Controls
In real-life, certain tanks have FCS functions that assist the gunner in firing at a target in certain situations.

Abrams - M1A2 FCS
Starting from the M1A2, all Abrams have a built-in lead function that allows the gunner to hit a moving target without manually leading. This can be done by first lasing the target, matching the target’s movement, relasing the target and then firing.

T72M1 - “Delta-D”
A rather unique feature in the T-72M1 is the automatic traveled distance compensation, known as “Delta-D”. This system engages automatically after a lase. While it is active, it uses the vehicle’s turret rotation and wheel speed to estimate the change in firing range to a stationary target. For example, if you engage delta-D by lasing at 1300 meters, then drive 100 meters toward the target, your range wheel will roll back to 1200 meters during the drive.

Of course these are just a brief view of what I would like to see implemented into the game. Feel free to correct any mistakes or misunderstandings that I may have or comment your own thoughts below.

That’s not that unique, pretty standard from even 10.7 tanks

I agree that more complex fire control system should be implemented but how they work and would be implemented in-game is a issue, but in my opinion War Thunder maps are too small for this function be ever needed and in moments where it would be required it won’t work either by intentional limitation or actual engine limitation.

Things like how much the target needs to be visible for the auxiliary fire control system engage will be a question to do in this case, as maps are small and players are used to engage without assistance, I feel like it will be an awkward implementation or a very gimmick one reserved to advanced in-game settings.

As most things that could be implemented to tank logic, ground simulator battles are the most obvious answer to test such things.

Are you saying tanks OTHER than the Abrams have this or that earlier variants of the Abrams have this?
