Fast and Dangerous: R400

The only thing that sucks is the volumetric bs that happens. But other than that the Jagdtiger is amazing. Imo its just a smaller little less survivable Maus with a lower br

Want to explain why/ how people already have it in game @Stona_WT ?

I think it’s content creators getting early test drives

Shouldn’t it also have better optics?
It’s using the TAM sight at the moment but the R400 doesn’t use the regular 8x sight since it has thermals

Magnification is not based on thermal-sights but on the daylight ones afaik.
The AOZ 2000 does have a CCD camera but idk if that does anything related tbh…
The regular gunner sight is still the same TZF-LA as on TAM, thus the 8x zoom is correct (there might be a 1x zoom setting according to some notes I’ve read, but no trustworthy evidence to speak of atm*)

even worse now lmao

8.7 would fit even better lol xD

not worth the trouble bro and you will sell it for like 12 gaijin coins keep it its better its not worth your effort and time (for only 12 gaijin coins)

Really not worth the time investment imo, I don’t expect it to sell well. I’m just going to get it for myself. It’s just a side grade to the early TAM.

Yea but on 9.7, that’s why I am saying to move it in 9.3 that Germany has a good line-up, and the event is perfect for me I am 8.3 in Germany (even if I stopped playing the TT after they said Greece was going to Israel and I had to start the Israeli TT)

Never did and never will sell anything at that price.
I’m not keeping it either.

2003 Restoration person reports the chassis actually had a 370 KW engine, not a 320 KW.

Mercedes-Benz OM-442 LA engine documentation also lines up.

Since gaijin did not care to fix the barrel’s 3d model (they just changed the name, despite me using the obvious difference in appearance as the major reference for the report)
@Armen_Lozone cooked with my help and modelled the barrel far more accurately than gaijin ever cared to;

Irl-Barrel:

The muzzle-reference device (or whatever its called) was not added because it seemingly wasnt fitted to the version that had the AOZ 2000 FCS (Shown at EUROSATORY 2000).

Bug Reporting Manager #1 Closed the issue of the only remaining information on the prototype vehicle which was restored by a singular person in Germany back in 2003, with accurate descriptions of the engine model and transmission.

The guy even has a contact number to confirm the source, but hey who cares.

I have actually zero hope for this game anymore.

The problem is that this doesnt prove that the ingame-configuration already featured the upgraded engine, especially since it was changed atleast twice during the TH/H/R400’s lifespan;
Initially (Designation: TH 400, 1985+) the engine-output was listed at 276kW.
It was then raised at some point (idk when exactly, but still under the designation TH 400) to 320kW (435hp).

Even if a newer engine was fitted at some point, the restauration featuring it doesnt prove that it was installed in the ingame-configuration (which is most likely the H400 shown at EUROSATORY 2000).

Also keep in mind that the vehicle today (i.e. w/ the Leopard 1A5 turret) has a weight of 28t, which is much more likely to have resulted in a subsequent engine-upgrade.

Nope, I read the Daimler Benz document more carefully. If it had this engine specifically it has a power range from 320KW (Low RPM) to 370KW (High RPM). This engine (OM-442 LA) is also specified to have a ECO/BOOST mode.

Without an intercooler it would be from 280KW to 320KW, if that makes sense to you from a diesel engine standpoint. It’s because they started adding intercoolers and turbochargers to their engines in 1980.

It has an intercooler meaning it was built to be capable up to 370KW output for a diesel engine.

Images of the interior engine bay also has the same engine layout as Daimler Benz documentation. Look carefully at their power output graph.

“1980 (Commercial): The OM 422 LA engine was the first Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle engine to feature an intercooler. This was followed in 1982 by the OM 362 LA engine using the same technology.”

The initial figure for the TH 400 was 276kW in 1984/85;

Just because the engine-model can theoretically reach a higher output does not automatically mean that this was available for the vehicle itself.

For example, the MTU MB-833 KA-500 engine has an engine-output of 720hp for TAM and TH 301 (1983) but 750hp for TH 301 (1985) both figures at 2400rpm.

What you can also see in the graph and text is the following;
“Engine speeds below 1500/min for continuous operation upon request”
The graph shows a output of approx. 320kW at 1500rpm.
This figure is the same one listed by various sources on the vehicle.
