Fair Play: October 2024

I share some of your views regarding other topics (despite your phobia vs paragraphs), but this wall of text:

Summary

…is actually a mix of conclusions based on opinions and not facts.

On top of that - i have zero clue why you feel the need to present such statements in the first place as most cheats deal with game modes without enemy markers (and the cheats are there to get markers). So if you play 60k arcade battles but just 2k realistic battles you might not be as affected as other players.

To make a long story short:

  1. WT is a highly popular game - popular games attract cheaters. This will never change. If players invest real money (and time) they can expect that the game provider guarantees a cheater free game play experience.
  2. Gaijin is in charge to prevent cheating with all measures possible; that means technical measures and manual measures. Even admitting that no game seems to be cheater free as soon as it is somehow competitive there is nothing wrong with the expectations of fair players that gaijin fights cheating with maximum strength.
  3. Highlighting that from your pov cruicial infrastructure within gaijin is staffed with volunteers is actually counterproductive for your arguments. If you think this through you actually imply that gaijin would assess cheating as a not really important issue.
  4. Last but not least you overestimate the role of GMs in this process. Afaik they are not in charge for perma bans, this is done by gaijin employees GMs don’t even know. If you are able to quote any claim of any GM that he perma banned a player for cheating - please share it.

My recommendation towards gaijin:

  1. Try to close the gap between expectation levels of players (=cheater free game experience) and reality (almost every game has cheaters) with pure honesty and reward actual useful player reports with a small GE reward.
  2. “Do the right thing and talk about it” - nobody prevents gaijin from taking serious actions vs the providers of those cheats. Publishing some legal actions vs the distributing websites in regular intervals looks way more effective than perma ban the end users of cheats - knowing that they will come back with another ip address.
  3. Be creative! Pay some real good players to hunt down reported cheaters - and force them to rage quit if cheating is confirmed. Publish vids of those actions!

I try to use the term “Staff” as often as possible, because. . . I do not know where the line is drawn specifically anymore and even if I did, I couldn’t say as I have signed a NDA many years ago. I try very hard to keep my word. The GM’s do however, have an immense workload and if players actually knew/understood the extent of it, I think attitudes and opinions towards them might be a lot different.
And I am voicing my opinions based on the things that I know, and don’t “call out” people for the sake of being “right”.
I however don’t like seeing misinformation, opinions and rumors being passed off as fact . . it’s not really helpful. And in the end, I feel like most of us want to the game to get better, and still make Gaijin a reasonable profit(and yeah, that’s subjective too . . lol) so as to keep the game going. Even tho some on this Forum and what I see in the chats in game seem bound and determined to tear it down, because . . . . reasons.
It’s an online video game, played by people from all over the world, many different nations, cultures with widely varying beliefs and customs . . and it’s on the internet . . . so . . . . yeah . .

Thx for using paragraphs!

Spreading opinions and rumors is part of (almost) every interaction on social media - this forum is no exception - and everybody is free to express fact-free opinions.

Regarding your wording “misinformation” (hidden as imho off-topic):

Summary

I am not sure if you are a native English speaker or not, but you might looks up the definition of “misinformation” - and where and by whom and in which context it is mostly used.

Even such a unreliable source like wikipedia are imho somehow correct:

Summary

Terminology

[edit]

Misinformation is often used as an umbrella term to refer to many types of false information; more specifically it may refer to false information that is not shared to intentionally deceive or cause harm.[20] Those who do not know that a piece of information is untrue, for instance, might disseminate it on social media in an effort to help.[21]

Disinformation is created or spread by a person or organization actively attempting to deceive their audience.[10] In addition to causing harm directly, disinformation can also cause indirect harm by undermining trust and obstructing the capacity to effectively communicate information with one another.[10] Disinformation might consist of information that is partially or completely fabricated, taken out of context on purpose, exaggerated, or omits crucial details.[22] Disinformation can appear in any medium including text, audio, and imagery.[22] The distinction between mis- and dis-information can be muddy because the intent of someone sharing false information can be difficult to discern.

Malinformation is accurate information that is disseminated with malicious intent.[21] This includes sensitive material that is disseminated in order to hurt someone or their reputation.[21] Examples include doxing, revenge porn, and editing videos to remove important context or content.[23]

Misinformation is information that was originally thought to be true but was later discovered not to be true, and often applies to emerging situations in which there is a lack of verifiable information or changing scientific understanding.[24] For example, the scientific guidance around infant sleep positions has evolved over time,[25] and these changes could be a source of confusion for new parents. Misinformation can also often be observed as news events are unfolding and questionable or unverified information fills information gaps. Even if later retracted, false information can continue to influence actions and memory.[26]

Rumors are unverified information not attributed to any particular source and may be either true or false.[27]

Definitions of these terms may vary between cultural contexts.[28]

The problem with “misinformation” on social media boils down that mostly others (as seen in the past governments or MSM in general) define what is “misinformation” and what not - based either on political/ideological agendas or simply because the so called “misinformation” are actually true but they don’t fit into certain narratives.

We had in the recent past a lot of social and economic pressure to follow certain official “recommendations” based on factually wrong statements (“there are no side effects of taking this”) and everybody questioning this was a conspiracy theory spreading “misinformation” - years later it turned out that those guys were actually right.

So if some players express that they are not happy with gaijin’s efforts vs cheaters it is imho the sole responsibility of gaijin to change this perception.

Have a good one!

dude . . .lol, I am a native English speaker. The person I was talking to, that you have interjected upon, stated quite clearly with no qualification as to it being an opinion that the last ban wave was “+10k banned” it was not, closer to 7500 . . . not to split hairs but still. And then went on to call it a “Monthly Ban Wave” . . . it is not. There is no set “schedule”, while they can and do send out monthly announcements about this sorta thing, they also can go 2 - 3 months without one, so . . .this is “misinformation”. People read it, accept as fact and the snowball starts rolling . . . C’est la Vie.
Now I also have no idea why you try to “stat shame” because I have played more AB than the other modes. Without looking, I’m gonna guess you play more RB than AB, yeah? . . . so by the very same hand/logic, how can you know what level of cheaters there are in AB? It has no bearing on “opinions” as to what any of us think about how Gaijin deals with “cheaters”. And it doesn’t matter what others do on other “social media platforms”. “Herd mentality”, “Tribalism” and people taking sides and being in “cliches” have been around as long as people have.
I don’t have any ill will towards the guy I was talking to about this stuff, and I made a point of letting him know before it became or appeared to be some kinda “feud” . . . I don’t do that. Best not to take/make things personal, especially on the internet. He may be a passionate player, as I have been for many years now, which cane make it harder to keep emotions in check, for some . . you see it pretty regularly here. People are people . . .
As for the “Anti Cheat” Gaijin employs(and most games have something as well)
I can’t say which is best, but a short search/read can give someone more information rather than just saying Gaijin is lazy and that EAC is crap . . . I don’t know about such things as I don’t cheat or have any desire to mess with any of that stuff . . . but if someone took a minute and read something like this . .

maybe be a little better informed about the whole thing . . . I learned a little
Anyway, I write like I speak. Grammar was and is the one subject in school I had little to no interest in and still to this day don’t care about. Communication is difficult and most people don’t even try that hard . . but for some reason I have to pass muster? . . . . yeah . . . pass
At any rate, I spend most of my Gaijin time playing, use the Forum mainly to keep up to date and actually only bothered to reply, yet again, to this thread . . . because I was eating lunch . . . priorities man . . ☻

Isnt that part of your Job though? As a gaijin employee l

Problem: too many cheaters in game
Solution: anti cheat system
Gajin solution: please play game, get cheated on, then go to replay, waste time finding all correct times when cheating happend, play again get cheated, repeat the process…

Hilarious

EULA

An anti cheat system will never be able to catch all cases of gameplay related misbehavior, and tech evolves on both sides, never on a stand still. This makes player reports so important and valuable.

Yes, the process with server replay reports is cumbersome, but if you have a better idea, I’m sure they will be happy to hear the suggestion…

So since I play on PS5 tell me can you start Warthunder on PC without installing easy anti-cheat?

Hope you dont get offended, but cheating is Gajin problem not problem of players who dont cheat. Maybe in 12 years work on better anti cheat system since this easy anti cheat is not it, I had guy just standing on his spawn and shooting and killing everyone…If easy anticheat cant catch that then its not good…
Also Gaijin should be buying or at least have someone as a mole in these discords where they sell cheats so they can be one step ahaed…
But then again I just wanna play game fairly, I dont cheat I dont wanna waste my time going thru replays and this and that, hope you can understand that…

when I play fortnite I just play it, if I need to repeort someone I just use simple easy report system in game
same with COD and other games…
I just wanna play the game and not be a fodder for cheaters who are lvl 20-50 and have 1death and 10 kills average in their stats only on premium tanks…
Like I hope you van understand not all of us have time to play game, watch replay and report.

Yes, but you wont be able to play a lot of the game modes as EAC is required for most of them (i currently sadly can’t remember which game modes they are).

Yeah I googled it and just fact you can play Arcade battles without it but cant play Realistic and Sim is bad, since I can already see how they can exploit that…IMPO you would not be able to start game without EC being on…only way…or have anti cheat on servers so that preformance of the game is not compromised for people with not so powerful PCs…

IIRC Easy anti cheat is automatically updated every time you start the game. EAC does not publicly share when and how it is updated.

…and Fortnite uses the same EAC anti cheat system as WT, btw.

Personal note/assumption (so possibly false): One could argue though that Fortnite is a quite simpler game than WT if it comes to content, tactics, aspects, game modes, units, etc. and never reaches the complexity of WT. It thus lacks a lot of the gameplay-intrinsic possibilities WT has where a player could abuse the system to gain an unfair advantage.
In the case of WT, each case has to be looked at in detail to determine if a player indeed broke a rule or was just using his vehicle and the situation in an optimal way. For the “victim” this may often look similar. (Note: This doesn’t mean that there aren’t pretty obvious cases as well - but also those need to be found and sorted from the other cases…)

I agree but sitting at the spawn and shooting to toher side, one shotting everyone, when you cant see them in any way shape of form, since theres hills, buildings and trees in front should be sooo simple…
also anti cheat should be able to detect walling and aimbot without me going thru replay…like it should detect another program running and guy aiming and following people thru terrain…
I know its not same game and WT is much more complex, but rules of physics are simple…
I get you can aim over some hills, rocks with comander sight, and I get that, but following me thru terrain or shooting in air and hitting other side of map exactly at right spot while Im moving cant be undetected…12 years of data, 12 years… so many crazy things happen in game…you have all that data…and you still need to go thru every single report…

No way you can beat cheaters, like I completly understand…

lol . . . I am not . . . I am a player, that is all

Please use English.

why was my publication hidden? I want to know what I said wrong? It seems to me that I was fair and told the truth, I didn’t lie and I didn’t insult anyone. What should I write in the forum? It gives me the impression that free expression is prohibited in the forum by the human right to say what he feels, I cannot send flowers to the forum, by blocking my message I feel offended and condemned by the forum not to write what I feel. I’m sorry but it gives me the IMPRESSION that here in the forum people are very nice and sensitive, I DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING BAD, why don’t the people in the forum accept the truth of the players as what really happens in the game, I personally can’t say that in WT everything is perfect, I’ve been playing since 2013 and I’ve also suffered stress due to game problems and nerves due to those who use hacks, I’m fair and I don’t give flowers to anyone, I’m telling the TRUTH. THAT’S IT, MANY TIMES THE TRUTH ATTACKS THOSE WHO DON’T WANT TO BE ATTACKED. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD SAY IN THIS FORUM, I KNOW THEY ARE DISCUSSING PROBLEMS THAT HAPPEN IN THE GAME. SORRY. I am roman español and I don’t know English.
