After reading this thread I felt compelled to share some thoughts as someone who plays ground sim exclusively.
I was not banned. I typically play quite a lot, sometimes up to 100 matches per week. I teamkill often, both accidentally and intentionally.
My stats show over 7500 completed ground sim missions. In that time I’ve only encountered maybe five players who deserve a warning, or at most a one day ban for teamkilling. I really hope the strict stance I’m seeing from forum moderators in this thread isn’t shared by the Gaijn employees handing out bans. I’m worried that clamping down too harshly on teamkilling will effect the spirit of fun in the game.
It’s a game and accidents happen. I don’t think players should be discouraged from making risky plays. In ground sim, it’s fun when planes are dropping bombs everywhere or mass artillery strikes are called on a contested capture point. The stance I’m seeing from moderators is that no teamkill is justified. I’ll share some examples below.
I also wanted to mention that in ground sim there’s a community of players who are high level and play quite a bit. It’s obvious the game means a lot to them. It’s always a joy to see them in the match. It means I have a skillful teammate or enemy. I was disappointed to see many of their names on the ban list. To me, it’s another sign that the criteria for handing out bans should be reconsidered.
Well for me, someone who plays this game for fun in having a nice competitive game… the banms are super duper lowkey.
Just check other competitive games out, you get banned for trolling, leaving, one spawns, even if u play super bad for a long time u get a warning in most of them.
Here: there is no penalty in trolling, one spawn tanks, leaving or for god sake playing like a robot…
Ig u leave you get the unused ta ls locked, if u only wamt to onespawn u dont care, also only the nation gets locked so who cares? They even want u to buy a hightier prem where u habe no backup for… how can they even sell this stuff when they call themself competitive?
Willingly TKing yeah i can get behind banning. But apparently someguy accidentally TKed twice in 1 match in sim and is getting told that is too much pound sand seems a little excessive.
we need more competitive game mode that better than random battles. i used to play wot. there was a removed feature that allows 7 players from diffrent clans to come together and fight together. there is just have to be at least 2 same clan members… they removed this in 2018 or 2019… man i miss these days…
if gaijin add something like this game mode it would be rock.
Couldnt say it better than that. Context is important on a tk
On that, do we know if they ignore context?
I usually tk trolls in my arb games when i spot them, never got a ban for that. Maybe didnt killed enough? Maybe they see the context and decide to not penalise me? I dont know.
Also in a squad we often tk ourself tbh, for funzies whem the battle is already over or even to steal the kill from the enemy to give the enemy less respawnpoints… so its even taktical to tk sometimes.
Nah, people should just pay attention, especially if it’s RB. AB it alerts you and makes all the notions that you’ll be sent to hangar, and no-one gets hurt…
U tk twice then u get kicled out of the lobby. Nothing more unless they changed it today.
On that note… u can abuse this mecanic to provoke someone to get kicked out. If he hits u accidentaly with a buööet or his bomb was to close u can ram youself into death to make him pay for it, u do that twice and he gets kicked. Alternativly u provoke him by hitting him just barely to piss him of and make him shoot u. Works like a charm.
Idk it has been a while since I got multiple TKs in 1 match i think it took 3 for me to get kicked out from just a really bad match with ARH and IR missiles.
