No worries, and apologies if it came over to you as personally attacking you, that was absolutely not my intention.
It’s a fair question, and I tried to answer it. = )
It’s also a question we see popping up again and again, and as much as we explain how it really is, the perception that such things are possible are deeply rooted in the community.
Wrong? Why is he wrong? My bullpups can kill anythink, friend of foe, the missle dont care. Same with any aa missle.
Btw i dont think the report button will do much.
And yes, tks happen, sometimes as oopsy, sometimes intentional.
Tk is just part of the game, dont blame the meanic for this. Blame the penalty system.
If it would be me, i couldnt care less if someone tks.
Someone tk me, i tk them, easy as that. Its a pvp game… its part of it. But getting a penalty for tks… 90% of the time they are not intentional or need punishment in my opinion, yes the 10% that are left… they need to get a punishment… but most of the times… meh.
To be fair I was pushing you to a wall. Tend to do that when you’re a blunt person.
Do also take into consideration, if they are new or not. These are just questions anyone is bound to ask cause 1 person may ask it but it’s bound to be asked again. Same reason why there are tons of people named Ivan, Sasha, and Greg. Joe Etc.
In Ground RB Friendly Fire is deactivated, you can’t shoot a friendly tank or spaa with your main or secondary gun or rocket to kill it. You’d have to intentionally drop artillery on the own team or use CAS to bomb your teammate to kill it.
If you deactivate Friendly Fire in Air RB your guns and missiles would still hit the friendly, but they wouldn’t cause any damage. Hence, an accidental TK by using your weapons would be impossible. You could still use bombs or ram people into the ground, but that would be most likely intentional.
I remember when I started in WT I even wanted to start chatting with a few of the bots because I ran into them again and again, thinking they were players I happened to run into repeatedly… blush
I’m not sure how to feel about this series of events. On one hand I agree with intentional teamkilling getting dealt with finally, however I am concerned with where the threshold lies and how the determination is made between accidental and intentional.
At this point I am wondering why teamkilling is possible at all. It does not improve gameplay or make it more enjoyable and now punishments are being handed out whether intentional or not (apparently). I had advocated for reflected damage in the past and still do. I am also interested in how this will work in sim mode as teamkilling happens quite often there since there is no barrier for entry and apparently a lot of people seem to struggle to tell the difference between a challenger 2 and a T-80. Reflected damage would punish those who do not identify their targets and not the person who is the victim of others poor gameplay.,
Then we have the whole captured/lease vehicle situation which has been complained about before.
The proble i habe with deactivating tks, u can troll and spamm around without penalty, also u lose the challenge to not hurt your mates.
But reversed damage… well that would likely stop them trolling and spamming too without tks possible… i like that idea while still thinking tks should be in the game to simply make it a better game.
See helldivers? Its a big part of thst game that tks are possible while u could also argue tjere that deactivating it would make sense in a way.
Which is great until they troll you by intentionally flying in front of allies to cause damage to them… so it gets reverted back to the person they want to troll
So what exactly am i supposed to do when a random just tries to ram me out of the air ??? sit and accept it.Cause your system is not gonna register him as ramming me,ahhah maybe even gonna put the blame on me.Very nice gaijin
If you intentionally TK players, you will get punished (banned). If you got banned in this ban wave, you deserved it.
If you believe in all that “all I did was accidentally kill friendly player with my stupid IR missile 3 weeks ago”, you should be really careful when surfing the interwebz. Please be aware that you will not get $1M from Nigerian Prince. It’s a scam ;)
Sorry, I just keep read same and same stories where all of them (TKs) did nothing wrong but killed random player in random battle weeks ago. It’s same story after ban waves for cheating. Obvious no one ever cheated, everything is one big hoax to make innocent people suffer.
Wait so killing premates in my squad counts too? Since when?
U dont need to pay their repairs, so are u sure it counts the same? If thsts so… that would be… well…
Imho you touched the core issue of this - but from the wrong angle.
The plain fact that gaijin was forced to turn off friendly fire (tank vs tank) in Ground RB proves quite impressive that their target customers were unable to play the game as intended.
Instead of renaming the mode after this to Ground AB+ they decided to keep it that way to keep the money flowing.
But the same guys started to flood Air RB lobbies like there is no tomorrow - with the same attitude they play Ground RB “point & click, live, die, repeat”.
So if them same kind of players are ruining the mode Air RB gaijin can decide if they follow the money like in Ground RB - or they try to force players to play the mode Air RB as intended.
Whatever you say - this team kill discussion affects Ground RB to the smallest degree - they have markers and if they bomb friendlies they are either not experienced enough or they don’t care.
Air SB pilots suffer from the C+P spam of identical aircraft on both sides and IFF issues which enforces them to get so close to identify them.
Air RB pilots suffer from the inexperience of their missile slinging team mates, totally unrealistic combat scenarios (way too many aircraft at jet BRs), reckless game play and intentional team kills & griefing whilst playing in a single life mode.
So your quote:
Is actually the wrong approach.
In a game what is nothing more than a plain shooter there are competitive aspects to be considered too. So the deterrence for an intentional team kill has to be so high that they won’t happen anymore - especially in a one life mode.
Since the beginning of TK policy in WT?
If you are playing random battle and you TK anyone from your team, you are a Team Killer.
System do not care if it was your squad mate, brother, lover or arch enemy accidently placed in same team. With TK you weaken your own team and you deserve to be punished.
