The guy that I reported, is still playing…
People who are identified as cheaters are put on a list. Every ban wave they are randomly picked to get banned. This prevents the cheaters from being able to tell what cheats were or weren’t picked up. (This is all from my understanding and what I’ve heard about the banning of cheaters in the gaming industry, this is apparently the most effective way, even if some cheaters remain temporarily).
They’ll get banned, it takes time.
Gaijin does implement process to try and prevent them from just creating another account correct?
I saw that you caught a B-18B with a bot script (https://warthunder.com/en/community/userinfo/?nick=Snowbinz) i reported several times. Nice!
Why not publishing these gamertags?
I mean to get a 1 week ban or more you need a hell of team kills, so in order to give the player base who adheres to the ToS a positive feedback there seems to be nothing wrong with a little bit of public shaming - and it might have an educational effect plus a deterrence.
Just google the effects of toxic behaviour to players - it has basically devastating effects on younger players (u have a PG 12 game) on their psychic health if they become repeatedly victims of toxic behaviour - so the long term health of your “law/ToS abiding” players should have way more weight than the rights of temp banned players which have proven that they won’t follow the rules.
Edit: Grammar & clarification.
Edit #2:
Btw: @OrsonES:
It would be nice if you could automatically delete perma banned players from personal blacklists.
And as requested earlier:
Plz extend the friend / blacklisted numbers from 200 to 500 or 1.000. I usually blacklist 4 player types:
- Team killers
- Guys spamming blatant racism
- Guys with “rat” game play or sweatlord squads.
- Guys which spam nonsense in team/all chat.
So whilst waiting to spawn at the start of each match i check the enemy team and my own in order to avoid unwanted surprises.
As I see daily a lot of team killing i ran out of possibilities to flag them - years ago. It would be great to have a higher number of blacklist opportunities.
If you want to be perfect: Implement the possibility to add a 2 letter code to personal blacklistings in order to distinguish them. Playing with a racist is less detrimental than playing with a repeated team killer, in the first case i can ignore chats, but in the second case i have to constantly look behind me…
Thx in advance!
probably so that people don’t constantly harass them after they are able to play the game again, after all they are already being punished (not supporting them but that probably a contributing factor to why) but IDK for sure that’s just my guess
As I said, 40% on that list have joined since dec 2024. Doesn’t that answer your question?
There is certain ways to circumvent certain permanent ban actions. So no it does not. A majority of them had been post Dec 24 so my question still stands. Can we expect next ban wave to consist of more possible repeat offenders?
Rat playstyle also existed in air rb? thought it is only a ground thing
Of course. Along with a good chance of DDOS attacks on the servers. Again.
When 40% of the bans are new accounts from within a quarter year, then we are speaking mainly of returning players who have been banned before.
So we are dealing with players here who know that they will be banned. It would be interesting to check the accounts for premium spendings. If they return under the premise of a next ban, these accounts should have no significant spendings, aside from short premium times. I just can’t be bothered to check it out systematically.
NOOOO THEY GOT HIM
I’m disappointed. There aren’t any whiney replies that I can chortle at.
Glad to see one that I met in GRB banned.
great! what about griefing, any rules on that?
Hello, player who you reported (ID 44210390 so you can check) is in fact banned and on the list.
Sry for delayed response - was saved as draft.
I put “rat” in quotation marks, you can also use “excessively competitive” or “extremely annoying”. I play just props and “real” WW 2 jets - but certain plane / nation / map combinations allows players to remain untouchable whilst being just a real pain in the ass.
So even if you remember their names (despite your could not blacklist them as you have reached your limit) and know how they play you can’t do anything against them if they don’t make mistakes.
Example (hidden as imho off-topic):
-
I meet since weeks every few days a BR 3.7 P-47 pilot on Pacific maps - he is faster than all JP planes and untouchable for any JP plane even at 5.0. So if you don’t have a JP premium P-51 in your team he can BnZ you the whole day without taking any risk. You can’t outclimb him if he is above 6 km and even then his level speed is similar to my rip speed (i fly exclusively B7A2s as i don’t like the Ki-44’s FM - i use a HOTAS).
-
On certain maps we have in these (mostly 6 vs 6) JP vs US/UK matches auto-ticket defeats for JP (Iwo Jiima, Saipan) which guarantees a win with zero mission score just by running (and doing nothing) as you can’t stop ai landing craft to capture A and/or B point.
-
On other maps like Guadalcanal or New Guinea he parks his plane 2 km above me (without seriously committing) and neutralizes me quite effectively for the whole match. So if your enemy is playing like this - u have an in-game equivalent to a “fallen soap” scenario - i do not try to pick up the soap :-)
-
I would do the same if i were him as i also focus more on the most dangerous opponent than on getting kills.
-
2 days ago i had to wait 20 minutes for a mistake - playing 1 vs 1 as last players. He went too low with 0 points in order to kill some ground units as we had ticket parity (if game ends with same ticket amount both teams get a “defeat”) - he saw me coming and ran away in order to restore his altitude advantage.
-
I was sure that he won’t accept a fight without having an altitude advantage and as the distance was large enough i turned around and killed a single pillbox for a ticket win (1 minute before the 25 minute timer) knowing that he would have no chance to catch me.
-
Don’t get me wrong - the player does everything right and plays like you should play vs JP aircraft but it is simply annoying like hell that you have to wait for mistakes in order to have a fighting chance.
Have a good one!
A moment of silence for a fallen brother in arms
Really that’s great! I’ll have to look at the list as I must of misspelled the name.
I thought a message would pop up when you entered the game, stating someone you reported was banned?
They’ll show up on reddit soon enough with the usual excuses.
