The only difference between F4U1C and F4U1D is just the weapon; is 4*20mm really worth 1.7 BR? F4U1C’s performance is probably the worst one at 4,7, even most 3.7 aircraft could easily defeat it. Does Gaijin really believe the firepower should be the first thing to consider the balance?
Most corsairs are undertiered. The F4U-1C can go down but you should not be comparing it to the undertiered F4U-1D for that justification.
As I said, the only difference between F4U1C and F4U1D is the weapon, even ignoring a little bit of the weight difference, which proves that Gaijin is too trust its firepower
4x20mm is far superior to 6x.50 so it makes sense the F4U-1C is a higher BR.
But not for 1.7, even F4U4 and F4U4B don’t get such a difference, 4.0 or 4.3 is enough
Like I said, F4U-1D is undertiered.
F4U1D might need to 3.3, but still too far for 4.7, 4*20mm still doesn’t make it good enough to 4.7
F4U-1’s BR is quite strange. F4U-1A/USMC has no tailhook, less drag and weight, and with the best performance among F4U-1, is assigned with 2.7 BR. While F4U-1D gets tailhook and thus slower, gets a higher 3.0 BR. What’s the reason for it then? If a tailhook worth 0.3 BR, then 4x20mm worth 1.7 BR is no strange lmao.
I also always wondered why the F4U-1C in particular never got its historical bombs compared to
the other Corsair variants which can carry bombs, even the current HVAR loadout for it took ages to add.
Expect Gaijin to add new loadouts is like expecting them to kill themselves lmao
