F4j(Uk) how to play it?

Does somebody know how to play the f4j(Uk)? The strategy I’ve been using isn’t working and I wanted to try grinding the British tech tree.Also the f4j(Uk) being at 12.0 is absurd it has mid radar missiles and aim9gs that are easily outflared at this br.so yeah could anybody who has experience with it please tell me the best strategy with it?

Now that it has aim7e2/skyflash it’s better than it used to be. Still, a bad 12.0 since it now shares the BR of the FGR.2/FG.1 with worse flight performance

If you want to bomb a base as many phantoms do, consider using just 6x540lbs bombs since it gives x8.0 base bombing rewards and you have a better chance of reaching a base before all the others, even if you cannot kill the whole base, you get a better multiplier so you’re not missing much.

After bombing try to climb while unspotted and use your PD radar to spam skyflashes into people, the gun pod is worth to bring if you are good at fast deflection shoots.

Do not commit to anything dangerous, it’s better/more consistent to bomb a base and kill 1 or 2 jets and maybe ground pound a bit when left alone while trying to survive as long as possible. This is not a jet that is able to carry games (unless fighting very low IQ teams), you are very much a support fighter.

Never try to joust with mig23s, even if you have altitude and speed advantage.

Stay low, first of all. Don’t try to both bomb and fight, it’s a terrible idea that will leave you extremely exposed. Pack like 18min fuel and make sure to keep a balance between cold and afterburner. I’d recommend using ACM mode especially when in a dogfight as the PDV can be difficult. Launch your Skyflashes at close range (2-4km, 7km max) and they will almost always hit. 9Gs aren’t the greatest but they can pull surprisingly hard, use them primarily against unaware opponents or at close range, <1.5km. overall it’s not a very good 12.0 but it holds its own even against uptiers, so long as you play cautiously and keep your head on a swivel.

Gaijin got another newbie lmao. The phantoms in the british tree have a reputation for being absolute trash and the premium is the ultimate noob trap. As its Australia day sales id recommend picking up the plagis spitfire LF mk9c as its the best dogfighter at its BR and has good rewards to get you a long way up the tree

Ask for a refund and buy MiG-21 Bison instead.

F-4J(UK) is scam plane.

Unless you are obsessed with 74th Sqn RAF.

I knew that the f4j was bad but i dont like playing mig21‘s and every other premium plane that could be used to grind is trash

You cant grind to toptier using a spitfire because the bonus rewards work only if you try to grind a plane under its tier but premiums can only grind planes that are 1 tier above it

I unlocked the entire bomber line with the wyvern which gives similar rp in air matches it doesn’t take too long with the decent rewards you get

Try (I haven’t played it or any of that br kinda vehicles even) headons with the skyflashes and vulcan and with the 9Gs catch unsuspecting enemies
