F4EJ ADTW Sparrow Missiles not acting normal

I purchased the Japanese Phantoms during the sale. I use sparrows on the American and UK phantoms, but these seem very different. I can’t get them to track or lock like on the american and UK platform. Is there something I am missing on this? I heard this phantom even has a better radar. Please help!

ADTW uses E sparrows which requires couple seconds to track enemies, also it doesnt have long range capability so try shooting them in 4-9km (10km is best scenario in low alt however you can achieve 12-15km head on shots at high alts if you’re lucky).

Also this Phantom uses same radar you can find on F4E, you must be confusing F4EJ KAI with this plane, KAI does have F-16 radar and AIM-7F Sparrows.

I usually take bombs for one base and full A2A loadout, once you bomb the base you can join your team to clean enemy team.

If you find in yourself in downtier try to achieve Air Superiority by climbing and engaging enemy planes on high alt by using your sparrows from 8-14km distance, once high alt is clear look for ground level and attack enemy planes from above, always keep your speed up and never get into dogfights unless you’re on low fuel or your enemy isnt skilled enough.
