F3H is really fun after sparrow buff

if you get energy trapped in your F3H that is you flying the plane wrong, you can easily hold onto your energy until the enemy is within the distance where dumping a bunch of it really quickly becomes effective and gives you a shot at them in the reversal. It is no worse off than any other strong 9.0 in an uptier.
Which is besides the point as i was comparing it exclusively to other 9.0s and talking about the actual things that happen in matches not making theoretical assumptions based on a randomly picked scenario where it is at a disadvantage in one aspect. You also haven’t flown the plane since January, so go do me a favor and do it right now and then tell me what you think.

Or don’t, i don’t actually care.

you have to notch it because its speed gating

It really is so much more capable. Instead of firing from 10km and hoping you hit someone unaware you can fire it from 16km and it can even hit someone turning slightly. I know this next bit is off topic but the F-4C is also really good which makes me look forward to an F-4B with 9B’s and 7D’s at 9.7 or so.

While I do think the sparrow buff was well deserved (especially for the 7F/7Ms), the fact the demon is stuck in such a strange place in terms of flight performance with such a good SARH kit makes balancing it quite difficult. It has not-exactly-great acceleration (While adequate for 9.0, it’s not very good for anything higher) while now carrying the strongest SARH missiles for their battle rating.

I can see gaijin likely moving the Demon to 9.3 to mitigate the diabolical BMPT-level curbstomping that is happening at the 9.0 matchmaker right now, but if they overreact and shove it all the way to 9.7, it’ll be really unpleasant to fly due to it being completely out-matched in flight performance in an uptier and it’ll also have to deal with missile-carrying jets like the J-7D, A-10, Su-25, etc. Without any RWR or flares whatsoever.

Also keep in mind that the same buffs the sparrows got will also be applied to every other missile eventually, so once the 9B and other missiles get their drag reductions, I’d say it’ll be slightly more balanced compared to right now

Never have I met someone so hostile over something so simple respectfully

I didn’t know that; that’s good to know but you wonder why they don’t just roll it all out at once

But if it’s teachable, teach me, and if you can’t, allow me to learn it from those who claim expertise in the field. [6] I mean, do you suppose that I’m deliberately embracing what’s bad for me and depriving myself of what’s good? Hardly! So what has caused my mistake? It must be ignorance. [7] So don’t you want me to lose my ignorance?

I mean, knowledge in all its forms despises ignorance and ignorant people, and this goes not just for the sciences but for the arts and crafts as well. Take any cobbler you like, or any carpenter, and you’ll find that he despises the common run of people when it comes to his own work.

If you think that was hostile, i assure you, it was only so in your mind.

Hold on it keeps tracking even after lock jumps to chaff?
Upd. It does I just needed lock on tu95 before launch, otherwise it misses. It also keeps tracking even if lock jumps on friendlies.

Missile which doesnt miss the second enemy decides to tap wasd once feels like crack at 9.0.

What makes you even think that? My comment had nothing to do with aim7c in the first place.

I was pointing out that the F-3H isn’t very manoeuvrable for the BR because you seemed to indicate it could turn with a CL-13, which is dumb

What makes me think that? You said you never had a kill with those sparrows! And why is that? Because you haven’t even played the vehicle on your account at all! What is this, next level gaslighting?

As for the rest, where did i say “F3H-2 turns as well as CL-13B in sustained rate” or anything of the sort?
If you had the patience to actually read and/or capacity to understand the things i am saying we wouldn’t be having these communication problems. But it is obvious to me that i am powerless here, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.

Keep your strawmen where they belong, in the trash.

That was before the update obviously, since they were essentially dead weight. I had a few now but they are still easily avoidable

Huh?

Your response to him:

Oh i’m sorry, i had my >50 games filter enabled. You played a whole 28. That is very cute. Must mean you know the plane in and out.

And just to be extra clear again, i never said f3h outturns CL-13B. Here’s a graph that shows it doesn’t.

But it’s not so far away from it that you can dismiss the fact that the F3H is a maneuverable plane, not the best in all categories but with competitive or excellent characteristics in rudder, roll, pitch or any other attribute you can throw under maneuverability, Especially in instantaneous which gives you the biggest advantage because it allows for quick snapshots with your deadly cannon armament that has a huge ammo pool to waste.

I don’t even know what point you are trying to make, it certainly wasn’t trying to refute anything i said about the plane as a whole.

I still played the jet… so?

That graph is wrong, the CL-13 can definitly pull more at that 600-800kph range where it says it doesnt, with much better energy retention to boot.

It’s average to below average at that BR when compared to other fighters. It makes sense because it has a decent kit and has speed and climb rate performance advantages, so it is expected to be a poor dogfighter relative to its competition.

All SARH missiles work that way (except non-CW guided ones I think). The lock can jump off the targeted plane onto another friendly or enemy plane or some chaff but as long as the targeted plane is still within the radar cone, it will still track.

Didnt know that, thanks

Yeah, if the target is still being illuminated by where the radar is pointing, it will still give returns, which the missile will receive and track regardless.

If the target manages to escape that area where the radar is looking at, where it lost the track but still is trying to search for it, the missile won’t see anything and go dumb. (Its like a cone).

This makes it possible to fire multiple SARHs into a cluster of targets and you might have a chance to kill multiple targets at the same time if you lose the lock in the first missiles you fired. R-24R is easier one to do it

That was the case for many other CW SARH missiles even before the update. Even if you see the lock shifting on the chaff you are supposed to hold that lock until your missile hits the target.

You say that buff to all missiles will happen which i’m hearing for the first time. If it happens then it will possibly be really bad for 7.0 to 9.0 BR range. And I believe that this game increasingly needs one or more BR “Walls” especially after this supposed missile buff. Like not allowing a certain BR to be able to get downtier: 9.0 not being able to go down to 8.0 for example to prevent that sort of situation where missile compression becomes an issue.

16 km headons is so fun. But is there plans for a F4B to be added? Also I tried the F4C and although its stock is it worth it to grind it out?

hell no. Unmaneuverable and no flares at 10.0 with a mediocre loadout to boot. The AIM-7D aren’t that good even after the update, and most of your targets will have chaff and RWR. The radar is incredibly bad to pick up locks at anything but high altitude, even the early tiny mig-21 radars are better.

Even with the buffed sparrows, you’ll be very limited by the radar, which often only picks up locks incredibly late to the point that your AIM-7D launch will be useless

The F-4C is mostly an RP pinata for other jets, it suffers even in downtiers
