Love you too pal <3
Typhoons do enjoy raptor salad
SU 57 entered the chat . ( I know its bad dont bully me)
Seeing as the rafale and eurofighter are serious threat (aka a counter) to the F-22, and have IRST to detect it (though it would only be at the range for a non-afterburning colder than average target due to supercruise + IR reduction)
What is taking them so long?
It is sexy, though and that’s all that matters. Quite sad that the airshow I go to every couple of years is nearly all Western aircraft (Avalon airshow). So we always have the F-35, Super Hornet there, and you’ll have F-22, F-15, F-16, and whatever else visiting depending on the year (2023 was F-22). The closest I got to seeing a Russian jet was the cockpit of a MiG-21 on a static display. Though, this is obviously not looking to change with the current geopolitics of the world, unless we get an Indian display team or something.
Working out stealth and how it would influence top tier, introduction of advanced missiles such as the 120C/D and 9X, probably guessing how the radar works along with the FM…
List goes on.
Wasn’t the end result 22-4 for F22?
No, there weren’t that many dogfights
it used 9m in service at first, then later 9x so it can come with 9m
i expect a thrust vectoring sukhoi soon
also expect 120c with hornet
they already have fighter AESA, all they have to do is give it faster scan, and way more range and LPI characterisitcs
they can add the YF-22 or 23 to test out how stealth affects fighters performance & counterplay
The US had lied multiple times about this exercise so anything further that they claimed can be readily dismissed since those lies were proven false with the release of HUD footage. So yeah, its just best not to believe in literal US propaganda.
The IRST of both aircraft have not yet been implemented properly despite reports. The MAWS still has issues, the AESA radar is not yet properly implemented, sensor fusion is basically nil, RCS reduction features has not been implemented for either Eurofighter or Rafale, IR signature reduction hasn’t been implemented for Rafale, so yeah there’s a long way to go imo before the competing aircrafts are in a situation where they can counter the F-22 reliably.
RCS reduction is totally irrelevant for both, they carry their weapons on exposed hard points. Anyways, an F-117 or F-22 is gonna be far stealthier than a clean EFT or Rafale regardless.
You are right about IR reduction, even the 117 which does have it implemented, should be greater level of IR reduction. Same thing with MAWS, though the F-22 one is IR/UV so shouldn’t have too many issues. AESA also needs some smoothing around the edges.
Sensor fusion is a whole thread in of itself, but yes, it should be implemented to many aircraft in game.
However, the F-22 will greatly suffer from many of those issues too, so if they DO fix it, then Rafale and eft will be able to counter F-22 so its a perfectly fine addition, but if they DON’T fix it, then the F-22 will also be hampered by the aforementioned issues, so eft and rafale could counter it, making it a perfectly fine addition
Reminds me of a certain catch I read about once. And seeing as it’s the F-22 being discussed. Put 2 and 2 together :P
Not really, even with 6 missiles on the Eurofighter, the RCS remained below <1
Eurofighter - RCS to high (missing RCS reduction features) // Gaijin.net // Issues
IR/UV MAWS like the ones on Mirage 2000, Rafale, F-22, F-35 aren’t supposed to have false alarms.
MAWS on the Mirage 2000 series should not have false alarms. // Gaijin.net // Issues
To be fair, I can only recall only two aircrafts in-game that really does have sensor fusion.
Not necessarily, F-22 lacks some of the sensors that would bring majority of the benefits to an aircraft like Rafale or the F-35.
The F-22 lacks IRST and LWR. Theoretically the Rafale would be able to fire a MICA IR which is a 60km ranged IR missile using the TV sensor and its built in laser-rangefinder and the F-22 would be unable to detect the launch (lack of LWR).
we know the speed and size of the f-22.

Strike eagles (and presumably regular eagles) got lots of software and hardware upgrades since their introduction in 1988, seeing as the one in game is at least from 2006 (has SDB) it should have sensor fusion. The reason you don’t hear about it is much is because they don’t sell strike eagles to other countries or the general public with sensor fusion like Rafale, EFT, and F-35, they sell it with its track record, payload, range, and flexibility. As F-16V has lots of 5th gen avionics and features integrated (like sensor fusion), and many of upgrades on F-16V were tested on and applied operationally to USAF F-16 (like the C in-game) F-16 has sensor fusion.

So for MAWS, f-22 would suffer from this too.

As for lack of features, this just proves my point that the Rafale and eft will have options to counter the F-22, as F-22 doesn’t have LWR (they might add the brand new IRST pods for F-22 lol)
On my life why hasn’t the Boulton-Paul defiant been added yet
Probably cause they are using an CAPTOR-M not CAPTOR-E. Although that should still also have a faster scan speed.
He is referring to Rafale for this, as it does have AESA, and it isn’t as good as it should be
Though, with 838 T/R modules it won’t even be half as good as the APG-77 :P
Oh i see should really separate the list rather then lump them together as they are 2 different aircraft with different issues.
must be that divine wind the japanese always talk about…
