There doesn’t need to be a 12.0 F16 in the U.S. tech tree.

Personal opinions can be different, to me 12.0 F-16 with Sparrows are essential.
What about keeping the adf asis, adding a blk 40/42 with the wide hud as the first f16 in the tree with aim120a and moving the f16c up in br later and giving it aim120c5 or something once we get more advanced aircraft?
That could work. I just hope there is still a progression to the F16 line. I don’t want them to just keep adding newer AIM-120s to the aircraft we already have tbh.

Probably not, afaik the us doesn’t use anything newer than the 50/52

To my knowledge the U.S. is Upgrading some of the F16Cs we have to F16V (block 70/72) standard to extend the life of them (may be wrong correct me if I am). From what I’ve read though the F16 Block 70/72 is mainly a upgrade (and new aircraft) proposed to nations who still use the F16 as their main fighter aircraft
Many USAF jets have been upgraded with the Block 70/72’s AN/APG-83 AESA radar and a Center Display Unit though, and they can carry the Legion Pod IRST
The main difference in production Block 70s from upgraded USAF F-16s will likely be CFT capability and the AN/ALQ-254 EW system

That is part of my “suggestion”. Giving both the Italian F16A ADF and US F16A ADF AIM-120s
Personally I would say no, specifically because the F-16A-15 ADF is fine where it is right now. Maybe a modernized F-16A OCU? IIRC the USAF refitted a few Block 10s to OCU standard at some point, and the Italians just so happened to have like four F-16A-10 (by serial numbers anyway) that were not ADF types.
giving it to the Italian F16 could make more sense than giving it to the us one, USA already has amraams for their F16C and the Italian one never used sparrows i think (my opinion)
I’m not saying this updated. Later on down the road as more modern AIM-120s get added I think they should add AIM-120 A/B to the US F16A ADF. I think the Italian one (and the F16A MLU in the West Taiwanese tech tree) should get AIM-120s this update.
