I bought the Netz a few days ago and i have to say this,
it is the most dogshit plane i have ever played, and i have 600 hours. why?
No radar missiles
No IRCCM
Slow without afterburner on
If you dont suprise attack (that is extremely hard becuse players pick up on you 13051km away) you die instantly
Its BR (12.7) is way to high, planes like the F-4 (10.7 - 11.7) are much better, and others like the Kfirs (10.0 - 12.0) also preform better. I think it should get pulled down to 12.0 or 12.3.
yeah, its based on the F16A (which is 12.3 but should be 12.7) which doesn’t have radar missiles, you don’t need them
you’re 12.7 its not really a must have at that BR
so keep the afterburner on and bring more fuel
then use sneaky rat tactics so you always surprise attack (most fun strat anyway imo)
this guy really said the F4 is better than the F16, also the F4 with python 3s is still 12.3 and it has a much worse flight model so the netz is not “too high” by any means
tips
fly low and fast, do not carry bombs like a ______, but follow the base bomber and keep going round to get the backs of your enemy, this should give you more opportunities to fire the pythons rear aspect, which you should do as much as possible, this will give them the highest chance of ignoring flares, especially focus on hot targets, like harriers and F14s
if you get in a head on with someone, fire the pythons at less than 1.5km away, they work very well in head-ons, but make sure you preflare any IR missiles that they fire at you, if they fire sparrows, then “barrel roll” to dodge it, if you keep dying to the same plane/missile in a head-on, don’t head on them anymore
so, basically, use ur radar soft lock, try to fly in skies, using maneuver 3/9 when radar missile launched and go to the left side (most important thing), drop napalm (if you decided to take it) and search for target that coming for ur left base, try to kill it, repeat
yeah, they are. IR only at 12.7+ means reactive only. It’s a bad playstyle overall which doesn’t lead to fruit, especially when you have missiles that go after the first flare usually
all the planes with IRCCM only are 13.0, not 12.7, obviously I think decompression is needed, but if it had IRCCM missiles it would not stay at the same BR
I’m aware, those are also pretty bad though in the current state of the game because of how gaijin compresses the BRs so much.
wasn’t what you were saying prior, you were saying it was a skill issue and that radar missiles aren’t needed for 12.7, they absolutely are needed to be competitive.
Who cares? R60M, Aim-9L, Python 3. All of them are flared just as easily with one tap, other than 1KM, rear engine, that the missile “push the flare”, then re-accquire the old target that is the plane engine.
Even 7F is way harder to evade, yes, even multipathers, which can be dealt with by unlocking the target last second.
