F15E NavFLIR

Should the F15E NavFLIR pod (AN/AAQ-13) be added to game even if it’s just for aesthetics and not functional ?

  • Add NavFLIR
  • Don’t Add NavFLIR unless it serves a function
  • Don’t Add NavFLIR at all

What does the navFLIR do

Navigation FLIR. Projected an IR imagine on your HUD to fly in low light conditions, also talks with the planes computer to warn about obstacles.

It’s drag already included with LANTIRN TGP on F-15E in game

It’s such a minute amount of drag and that’s why I’m saying add it as an option just like the targeting pod now. If you don’t want it fine but 99% of strike eagles have the two pods. Night battles aren’t huge so the addition of a functional NavFLIR is as low of a priority as it gets but it first the aesthetic of the E

While I would like it in game, I would bet that gaijin would make it block the other set of countermeasure dispensers which would leave you with none.

They did that incorrectly in the first place. No targeting pod on the f15 blocks countermeasure dispensers. Plus the f15E we have with small diameter bombs should receive the sniper pod which is smaller than the pod we have now

The Nav pod has never had any effect on CM usage.

The LANTIRN TGP is the only TGP the F-15E carries that has any effect on CM, and it only restricts the 2 outboard CM blocks, and 1 line of the inboard CM blocks usage of flares. They should still be able to be loaded with chaff.

Gaijins implementation is fantasy.
