F14s

People are hugging the ground not because of the implementation of FOX-3 missiles.

That is literally what people were doing before Phantom got DF Sparrows or Skyflash.

true, but now ARHs are the bigger issue and reinforce the behavior, but terrain masking has always been important, first any radar missile, then R27ER, then AIM54, then any ARH, they biggest weakness they’ve all had (in warthunder) is not great against low flying targets. they already decreased multipathing, there no need to make top tier worse.

just for gameplay reasons gaijin should never implement a 100% effective weapon (in my opinion they have failed this a number of times) without appropriate countermeasures, and considering there no real electronic countermeasures in warthunder yet there shouldn’t be a weapon that can’t be avoided without them

please also remember people generally don’t want to die

Apparently it’s the other way around
They already have monopulse seekers

So intruding that would only nerf aim7f(which currently is identical to aim7m)

I think the f14s are fine we’re they are
The f14a Early could come down a bit

Aim9m seams a much better fit on the f14D which finely fixes the terrible f14 Radar
Yes it has a ton of power
But function wise it’s extremely similar to the radar of the F4j and f4s

Front aspect Only radar with a huge notch window

At the very least, I agree that ECM modeling is a must.

It is pretty funny we already have some ECM stuffs such as SPS-141 and AN/ALQ-73(F-104S.ASAs RWR) but, still not work as ECMs.

This why we should have BR modifiers for weapons. Let players choose to suffer uptiers if they want historical loadouts.

My problem wasn’t that just the aim7 gets this featur my problem is that defendign against such missiles is nearly impossible in closer ranges

This wasn’t my argument.

This was. The Tomcat Early predates the 9L.

I’d rather get a Tomcat A Late with TCS/9L/BOL and make it be 0.3 higher than the Early and 0.3 lower than the B.

I mean Gaijin modeled F-14A Early from 1977 SAC but, US Navy was literally testing Lima in China Lake that same year.
I don’t have these documents rn but, you can find some photos in internet that killed QF-86H Sabre with AIM-9Ls.

So, Gaijin can add AIM-9Ls for F-14A Early if they want.

Depending on the year, the F-14A circa late 1990s to 2004 has literally the same avionics and available armament as the F-14B, except for the TF-30s and JDAMs.

I know that the date the vehicle was manufactured or modified does not necessarily correspond to the armament available in the game, but it would be very weird if the F-14A circa late 1990s to 2004 don’t have Mike and AIM-7MH, AIM-54Cs.

Ah, i love people who think the Ground can save them. If a missile comes in at a really high angle (I.e , launching from 8000M against someone who is hugging the ground), the missile will deal at least a bit of damage , at the very least Critical .

I wouldn’t hold my breath 😆

Gaijin does have a penchant for chimera blocks with frankenstein loadouts 💀

2010+ F-15E using LANTRIN… Yeah.

Honestly, They should stop doing that.

I previously posted a historical report on the JDAM (and HUD/PTID upgrade) for the F-14B, which unfortunately has not been fixed yet.

and practically the earliest variant of the AIM-120 possible

Do you know if the IRIAF F14 used these?

they didn’t, iran only received Phoenixes and even had to integrate the AIM-9P and AIM-7E-2 into the F-14 taken from their F-4s. let alone any of those modern missiles that were made way after the revolution

Even the A-7E could carry 9Ls, I think even the 9M.
