F100D vs F104C
Which is the better USA 9.3?
I’m wondering if the F100D is worth buying if it’s any good.
What is the flight performance of the F100D like? is it good for dogfights or not?

F-104 and it’s not even close.

I haven’t played either, but the F-100 is slower and much easier to face and kill. Meanwhile, the F-104 is untouchable in a downtier outside of being vulnerable to a few specific aircraft.

if u have F104a dont grind F104c its the same thing

It depends on what you want to do.

Personally, i prefer the f100d. It isnt as fast, but it has better missiles and better for things other than pure boom n zoom.

I prefer the F-100D over the F-104C and the Early/CMless F-104’s in general since the F-100D is way more versatile in terms of roles than the F-104C. The F-104C and it’s predecessor the F-104A are specialized for BnZ & Interception

But the speed bleed on F014s is immense and either I do very good in it or I do very little, it’s very easy to lose speed in my opinion but does the F100D have the same kind of speed bleed?

As long as you dont abuse it, you should be fine.

It will lose a lot of speed in sustained turn fighting. Imagine it as a 104 but with the ability to react when diving in.

On a side note, the f100 is able to win 1v1 dogfights against most enemies if you know what you are doing. It helps if the enemy is over confident. Have won a few turn fights vs mig21s in it.

F-100D by a long shot, I would not recommend researching the F-104C because the A is essentially identical anyways. But the F-100 has more and better missiles and is leagues better at maneuvering. As you may have seen in the F-104A if you have it already, the only advantage the F-104s have is raw speed, meaning they are hard to catch but with such terrible maneuverability they also can’t really kill anyone that’s not stalling or completely unaware. The F-100 meanwhile can still BnZ quite well, it’s not the fastest 9.3 but it’s still faster than most, but it can also dogfighting pretty well with decent instantaneous turn rate and good sustained turn rate. Just of course be cautious of subsonic aircraft which are more maneuverable than you and BnZ them while dogfighting fellow supersonics.
As an added bonus the F-100 has a higher bomb/rocket payload for CAS.

I have played both. The USAF Starfighter is a drag racer interceptor with bad missiles - AIM 9B’s that suck against anything except a high-altitude bomber that you will never see at that BR. Which is what it was designed to be ironically. The Super Sabre on the other hand is a good fighter-bomber; decent but not great missiles, good guns and a reasonable turn time to climb rate. Just mind low altitude dogfights at low speed and flaps, or you’re road-kill. 😬

Which reminds me, why does CHINA get an F100A with a 10 second faster turn time than F100D and NOT USA ?? 😡

I did personally prefer the F-100D, i hated the F-104 bc it does 1 thing and is easy to counter if it gets even a slight uptier

the F-100D is far more versatile but isnt perfect either

Because the F-100 was added before China, and France didn’t operate the F-100A. So the D model was added for both for balancing because at the time they were top tier. When China was added they only operated the A model so that’s what they got, and Gaijin’s just not gone back and added it to the US as well because they almost never add non-top-tier aircraft of existing families to existing trees.
Same reason it took 7 years for Germany to get a MiG-17.
