Of course I think it should come, and it will, maybe even as early as next update… I just don’t think it is a matter worth flaming up the forums over that it isn’t coming RIGHT now, after already having got 5 jets this year, 4 of them F-18s, the best of them this very update.
This is the sort of thing that paints a bad reputation of “U.S mains” that then people use to delegitimize actually legitimate concerns of U.S players.

srsly though, I prefer it coming as a foldered hornet instead of a premium variant w/AIM-120s in the future. They already played somewhat dirty with C+P variants in the past like the PzH2000s case.

Yeah. In hindsight, I don’t even think merely asking for F-18D is what threw me off at all. That’s perfectly fine.
Rather, it was the catastrophistic tone/nature of some comments.
Yeah I just don’t get it. People wanting US equipment to go to the US TT at the same time as it goes to other nations is completely fair. But it sets some people off.

I can very well see the F/A-18D being an event vehicle (just like the Jaguar E, MiG-23MF, F-100F)

I don’t think you get it though.
It’s a minimal waste of resources ( if at all), so let’s actually push for it WHILE we’re still at gen 4/4+ because, as we can clearly see, their next priority is infantry content.
We’ve already missed the train on gen 2/3 jets and older stuff so an attempt should be made to at least get as much of the current stuff as possible, regardless if it’s for the US tree or not.
( The current “old gen” additions are sloppy premiums anyway)

I just want the F/A-18D so I can have a perfect USMC air wing in my lineup with the C Late, lol
if they had added them years ago it might be a bigger deal but it barely matters now apart from aesthetics
