No it’s not needed but it’s there so what’s the harm in adding it to the US at the same time?
What’s the point? Add another plane with old weapons? Don’t you understand? Gaijin has no plans to add new missiles to the US Air Force.
Bold of you to assume gaijin would ever improve the armor of the M1 series of tanks.
Question, What is the difference between the F/A-18D and what the us has
Can I ask what’s the difference between the American C and D?
And for reference, Malaysia only has Ds, so it was the only option.
For God’s sake, the U.S is getting the SUPER HORNET this update, even though last update it also got F-15C Golden Eagle and shortly after having received all of the F/A-18s and F-15E.
Is it really deemed like such a neccessity to ALSO get F/A-18D?
There’s no difference other than some software changes which wouldn’t matter in-game.
I feel inclined to say yes because the F/A-18D is a beauty and two-seater strikes look better, but I doubt it’ll be added if it is literally identical to the C other than being heavier and a two-seater.
The F/A-18E is a slower F/A-18C with a additional set of pylons and a better radar, its frankly just ok unless your goal is to just be a meme missile bus.
The F-15C GE is a joke and a non-addition due to how terrible it is, especially now.
Why not have the D as a foldered vehicle?
It would be a nice option for the people that prefer the twin seat versions. Could folder it with the C so that players that don’t want it can just skip it.
If performance is what you seek, what do you expect from F/A-18D that the others don’t have and makes it better than them? What justifies the U.S getting a 5th F-18 within a year?
What justifies France getting another Rafale that’s heavier? If worse performance determines whether the nation of origin can get something then the Rafale M should go to the UK through India.
+1
I seek the US getting the vehicles and equipment they made and operated first or when other nations get them.
I don’t care that the D has worse flight performance, it is still a US aircraft missing from the US tree that I want to fly in the US TREE.
I have no interest in grinding Japan just to play the F/A-18D.
Whatever.
But know that this is exactly how Big 3 Mains look when they get angry that a minor nation is getting ONE competitive export vehicle from them, even though they already have five billionsimilar or better vehicles with even more to be coming in a future:

People just want a nation to get it’s equipment the same time it’s introduced to others. No one is complaining about Japan getting the F/A-18D, the complaint is gatekeeping for the sake of making people grind a entire nation just to get 1 thing.
Oh please, it took 4 patches for the US to get EGBUs, or the US being the literal last NATO nation present to get LJDAMS WHEN THEY LITRALLY MADE THEM.
You can literally go on for hours about systems, equipment and vehicles that the US FIELDED FIRST that gets tossed into another nation before the US, only for it to be simply tossed back in to the US tree after gaijin has milked enough people in the other trees.
There is nothing stopping gaijin from simply copy pasting this plane into a folder with the C in the US tree beyond a few minutes of effort.
“We are now getting the FOURTH and best F-18, but we want a FIFTH one too because someone else is getting that ONE model, and how can anyone get something we don’t?”
Like, am I that weird for feeling like this just comes off as bratty and entitled?
For the record, I would 100% understand if the export model was significantly better. But this isn’t the case…
EDIT:
And that’s a completely different topic which I completely understand. But F/A-18D is NOT one of those examples.
The U.S already has many F-18s, and is now getting the best F-18. This situation isn’t comparable to another nation getting a better vehicle, variant or mechanic first.
That’s not even the point. If the export model was significantly better it shouldn’t be in the US TT since that particular version would never have seen service with the US.
It’s the fact that it is the exact same as what the US uses that it should be added to the US.
