You have the Tor for China, ItO 90M for France and Sweden, FlaRakRad for Germany. All great SPAAs. Again, not that difficult to point a missile and shoot it at a jet that can hardly turn. The F-16s and F-15s can climb into the stratosphere with ease, that thing can hardly look up without bleeding speed.
Looks at Sweden top tier ground that has remained top 2 for over 4-5 years now.

Ironic coming from the person saying that the F-16C is overpowered, when mavericks are legit some of the easiest missiles in game to shoot down for SPAA.
sweden has been good in air only once with the gripen, early viggen was great for a time but thats it

The air bias existed for 2 months with the Gripen A only to become irrelevant once again. Ground stands strong so air must sufffer

Ground sure, it’s great. But air? Oh boy, obviously you never played Sweden. Half decent props, early jets are slow and by the time you reach the battlefield, everyone is gone, everything from 8.0-11.0 is absolute garbage, and your only saviour until the Grippen is the MiG 21bis. The AJ and AJS are probably the worst strike aircraft, because somehow you need to replace your bombs with flares. So you’re giving up at least two pylons (8 bombs, 2 rocket sylos, or two AGMs) for much needed flares (or even cannons), and for whatever reason, the strike aircraft version gets the AIM 9Ls ripoff, and not the actual fighter.

Pre finland it was Trauma inducing, remember ther 20k j29 and the 15k j21a2? repair cost was unhinged

ive never got to sweede top tier, playing it as f2p long before economic update burnt me off from the entire tree. without a doubt the worst air tree in the game for me

ItO 90M has like a 7 km range against a flanking Su-34 and sometimes you get missiled outside of your max range. Kh-38s are very hard to intercept since they are really quick and the range you can lock these missiles gives you a very narrow window to intercept them and sometimes your proxy won’t trigger on them but with ADATS you have more luck as the IRST can lock the Kh-38s earlier and the proxy is more reliable.
If the Su-34 player is in any way capable the aircraft is virtually untouchable against AAs except for the Pantsir. In addition it is way harder to protect yourself against Kh-38s as they have IOG and potent warhead for overpressure (smoke gives minimal protection and overpressure is likely for lighter vehicles)
Honestly the only NATO AA that I would want to see added is a CIWS system like the Phalanx as that way there would be a way to defend yourself and your teammates against these missiles

Playing Swedish air burnt me out too. I went weeks without playing just because of how much it irritated me. I would only sign in for the rewards and then go back to play Battlefield. Only reason why I went back in was just so I can finally finish Sweden and be done with it since I was a completionist. Yeah, now I’m top tier in five (about to be six) countries, so much for the “get this done and I’m quitting”
Oh, I agree, we need better SPAAs. All countries do. I’m just glad at least one nation can bully CAS players, unfortunately for everyone, it’s the Pantsir. They need to buff the FlaRakRad again, bring it back to when it was supposedly OP.
Gladly I don’t main the US even if I’m a American. It can get boring after a while.
Yeah tbf NATO CAS (excluding the Rafale which I think is on par with Su-34 in terms of CAS) is also an actual problem but it has to be spammed out a bit more meanwhile 1 or 2 Rafales/Su-34 can cause catastrophic damage and sometimes you’ll have Russia and France on the same team

But if you want to ask me if it’s worth it, it’s really not. There are so many better air trees, and if you really want to say, “but the Grippen”, it doesn’t matter since you could go down Britain (better props, excellent early jets, subpar 10.0+ unless you run Lightning, Grippen and Eurofighter), Italy (great dog fighters, early jets are eh, but you also get access to the MiG 21bis and Grippen, which you get in Sweden anyways, PLUS the Eurofighter, and MiG 29), and Japan (best dogfighting props, then copy-paste America BUT you get F-16s, F-15s, and the Grippen).
Literally just run those countries, you don’t need Sweden.
