Not really id say Smin oversold its value, its worthless for CAS but given it has BOL its the best for Air battles but only by a little bit. In terms of multirole its now the 2nd weakest hornet with the Finnish F-18C being first. Sweden needs a CAS jet and the Hornet fails to be even somewhat useful but it only took 3 months to get a version thats not 13.7 material so it could definitely be worse. Now if BOL goes to any other hornet then the MLU 2 becomes worthless lol

I think the primary reason for foldering is so that players don’t have to research the plane if they don’t want to and instead start research on the plane that is next in line. Since the F/A-18-C is last in line i don’t think they will folder it anytime soon.
I don’t think this is something that stops them being foldered. Not when there are folders like this:

Do what they did when the Americans cried about the double F16’s make the worse model the foldered one. They changed it back like a few months ago or so but it doesn’t matter the point still stands.
Look even if they dont reduce the RP cost of this abomination. They shouldn’t force anyone to play the abysmal garbage that gaijin waved in our face for 3 months. At 14.0 it is the single handedly worst vehicle to exist and imo never should’ve been added if the MLU 2 is only now giving us an on par option and only proves to me gaijin purposely put the F-18C at 14.0 out of spite lol.

you saying that feature that almost every if not every 14.0 aircraft has is a strong part? including at least usa variant, that had everything you said except BOL’s, but we will talk below about them
most of them have at least something that can hit moving target
that still wont hit aware and skill target and still will hit new player flying to bomb bases
that were nerfed to ground, having ~60% of flares effectiveness and ~25% of chaffs effectiveness

Just saying, there is a regular PUMA, and it foldered with spiked PUMA, and there is nothing after them. They are folded, because devs understand, its awful to reserch the same vehicle for 350k RP, the only difference of which are ATGMs

- To say they’re too different doen’t make sense. The primary differences of the F-18C and F-18C MLU 2 are BOLs, AMRAAM C-5s, HMS, JDAMs
- JDAMs are so useless, what are you gonna do? Bomb bases? The only way to hit a target with it in GRB is if they remain stationary, and considering not many tanks do that, you probably won’t get kills. It doesn’t even have a targeting pod.
- HMS should be for all 14.0 aircraft; it’s a pain to play 14.0 without it
- The AMRAAM C-5s had 180km range in dev, but that has been nerfed
- Non-similar planes have been foldered, MiG-19, MiG-21. Two completely different airframes.
- End-of-line vehicles aren’t foldered
- PUMA and PUMA VJTF. TKX and Type 10
I have grinded the Finnish Hornet and I am actively using it, simply put, it’s a pain. You can’t keep up with the fast-paced environment without HMS for quick targeting. People can get missiles off faster than you in close quarters. In conclusion, no one wants to grind 420k RP and pay 1,400,000 SL for a plane that’s the same, but with 2 whole useful differences (HMS, BOL).

I believe the F18 without a HMD is inadequate for a 14.0 BR, so versions lacking HMD should be lowered to 13.7.

tbh if gaijing wanted they could give the mlu 2 the AGM-154C JSOW IR, IOG, GNSS guided glide bomb,
but if they don’t do that we have to wait until they add the JASSM AGM-158.
Finnish Air Force didn’t buy the maverics and that’s why we donj’t get them to the mlu2

The real reason they didn’t get better CAS is because gaijin made it the only model to have BOL. Its a trade off. Worse CAS for more countermeasures.
