F/A-18A problem

honestly ive been play the F/A-18A for the event super good plane too good to be 12.3 honestly in compared to the F14A or F4J in a 1v1 it beats both should honestly be give the Extra pylon the C model gets a and more flares like 120 and be made 12.7 and the C early should be made 13.0 its a good plane just need decompression at the BR right now its radar is miles better than anything at its br like its not even close the compared to the F14A or F4J

what do yall think

F18A can go to 12.7 with basically no changes. It has 4 SARH and 2 IR and both missiles are competitive with other 12.7 aircraft as well as the FM/Avionics.

F18C variants can all go to 13.0 and get 9Ms for compensation.

since C model already has Aim 7P honestly should not get 9M unless they give it to the tech tree planes around the BR or Aim-7MH

I don’t think it would be unfair at 13.0 with 9M since every other 13.0 that isnt a F-14B gets 9M.

Almost every 13.0 has IRCCM missiles.

yeah but the justification for F14B not getting the Aim 9M is that it has gimmick fox-3s so since the F18C early gets Aim 7P which is a data link Aim 7M it shouldnt get them

nobody believes f14 should have 9L and not 9M at the moment

gaijins not gonna give them to it soon so why not hold it to same standard till the F14B isnt held to that standard otherwise it would be unfair soon as the F14 recieves them im fine with it gettting it

because we, as a community, do not use gaijin’s mistakes as reason to make more mistakes in our suggestions

Its 12.3 because without AIM-7P and less missiles, it’s considerably worse than the premium horde of F-18C early variants that gaijin wants to sell at 12.7.

If you put the premium ones at 13.0 it would be mediocre. If AIM-9M was added to those, it would be fine and the F-18A could go to 12.7.

But to be honest the F-18A isnt a very oppressive jet at 12.3 or 12.7. It dogfights well against most things and has a decent kit. But it is also slow past mach, and when turning hard it slows down very fast, which makes it easy for others to ditch out of a dogfight. Without IRCCM missiles its always safe to do it.

Compression from 11.7 to top tier is very bad and without more BRs, it’s hard to properly balance a bunch of jets.

yeah not oppressive at all, you just can’t go above multipath height against it at any time because front or rear aspect the radar tracks perfectly being a hornet radar. You also can’t get slow with it because it will just beat you before you can get enough of an energy advantage unless the other guy uses the aoa button and screws up his energy.

This is all to say, it’s oppressive even against peers. It’s unstoppable against a lower BR jet.

All of this applies double to the F18C because it can just relock you over and over and abuse IOG+DL

The Aim7F/M are much easier to notch, unlike the 7P at close ranges that act like a R-27R. The most oppressive jets from 11.7 to 12.7 are the 11.7 Mig-23MLD, 12.0 F1C and F-4S, 12.3 Mig-21 bison, 12.7yak-141, M2K + the premium hornets.

Each of those are far more “unstoppable” in a downtier than the 12.3 F-18A could ever be. Aim9Ls and Aim7Fs in that platform is not the end of the world even in a downtier. 9Ls are solvable with 1 flare + cut afterburner. 7F are easily notcheable.

If you are a mig-23 for example, all you have to do against a F-18A is to let it merge at a notch to avoid getting sparrowed and then run away. If we look at the mig-23 in a downtier or even against its counterparts, that jet can dictate about everything against almost everything else.

Tornado is 3rd gen, I’m not calling that thing a 4th gen.

average brick plane F4E is more of a 4th gen than it honestly

I wouldn’t consider the AIM-54s to be an adequate reason to not get the AIM-9M.

Move it up man. I cant enjoy 11.7 with mig23mld

F-4EJ kai is at the same BR with a better kit and a comparable radar

its even faster than the f18a but a worse flight model for dogfighting

Its flight model heavily limits it. The hornet’s FM, while often complained about, has overstated flaws that don’t hurt it nearly as much.

I’m still upset about this. 9Ls just don’t cut it at this BR
