F/A 18 techtree placement

When the F/A 18 comes to game which line will it be in for the USA, because it as 2 options the attacker or the naval line.

‘why not both’

100% Naval line (F-14 line) imo

Attacker line is for stuff like the A6, A10, etc. the Hornet is exclusively US Navy iirc as well (and replaced the F-14s)

Then F16 is in AF light fighter / interceptor line, F-15 is in AF heavy fighter / CAS line

I could see them adding a marine F/A 18D to the attacker then F/A 18C to the naval

Im thinking the F/A-18 Legacy Hornets will go to the attacker line, the next navy line fighter will be the F-14D Super Tomcat, and the next after it will be the F/A-18E/F super hornet.

There’s a lot of discussion to be had but I personally think that the F/A-18F should be after the F-14 considering that it’s basically it’s direct replacement. The normal Hornets are different. All of the aircraft in the attacker line is subsonic so I think that the -18A/C would make more sense in the naval line. The A-6F would be great in the attacker line at 11.3/11.7.

I’m leaning towards the top end attackers being the AV-8B series, Legacy Hornets, culminating at the F/A-18E, and the top end navy fighter line being the F-14D then the F/A-18F.

Gajin spilt the US ground techtree and gave the Marines their own line so I could see them doing the same for the naval as well allowing for a Marine specific F/A 18. From reasearch the only F/A 18 operated by the Marines specifically alone is the F/A 18D.

Another possibility is Gajin doing the same thing they did for helicopters. Perhpahs if you reasearched one line either attacker or naval you’ll be able to reasearch the F/A 18.

It will be in the German tech tree and it is the Swiss version
