it might be problematic flaring missiles that come from above, due to the positon of the CM dispensers
they are pretty far away from the engines afterall
nope, rear shots at 50 throttle and weaving to make the missile lose my engine, still goes through, r60MK, R73 you name it.
still probably the flare position and their raise time
and when you are weaving left and right the missile will still se the top of the F-18 and not the belly where the flares come from
we’re going in circles here, if DEFYN and Bad Karma show the F18 to be very hot and hard to flare in, they probably have a point.
You need proper flaring technique, since dispensers are on the bottom, you need to neg g when flaring for gatewidth irccm missiles, for seeker shut off flare then turn or corkscrew while flaring
Personally I’ve had no trouble flaring r73s or 9ms USUALLY. Gatewidth irccm though if you let them launch sub .7 km you’re probably cooked

First off, the best hornet is the F18/A not the C Early, which you would know if you flew them. best hornet in terms of what? Performance for its br, its the fa18a. In terms of absolute fm, the best hornet is the f-18c
that’s what i meant, sorry. Haven’t yet reached top tier so I can’t say about the C Late but i’ve heard the swiss C Early is also quite good.

the swedish early c model is lighter than the american a/c early model while having the thrust of the late c model so it’s the best hornet flight model
Interesting, thanks, although i doubt it makes a big difference in the average ARB match. Also I’d like to clarify that I LIKE the f18 and I think it’s an excellent jet, with a challenging and fun gameplay loop, I’m just curious about its propensity to attract IR missiles like a lamp attracts moths.
(also when are we getting agressor camos in the game gaijin pls)
