Not too big a deal. I can prove that the LITENING-AT would also have access to also has A2A capabilities, and since the wiring is intrinsic to the airframe, performance should be similar.

The capabilities differences between the two pods are minor enough to be ignored for the sake of this discussion. Therefore, the decision for or against either targeting pod comes down to less obvious factors.

18Cs have carried LITENING ATs since atleast 2006

Equipped Litening AT since 2006 ~ 2017 before change to Litening G4 pod

But F/A-18A+ (2005 ~ 2009) equipped Litening AT same F/A-18C/D

“Not a bug. The AAS-38B does not exist in the game. Also, there is no mention of an air-to-air radar slave mode. This is not the same as air-to-air tracking.”

Performance variance is within tolerance for Gaijin, my point was that you claimed it was overperforming in SEP. Currently acceleration is correct at 360 knots to 550 knots IAS. If you insist it is overperforming I would like to see proof, here is mine:

Don’t remember saying it overperformed in SEP just that it wasn’t know for it, wasn’t its strong suit. It was an AOA nose authority fighter not a turn rate fighter like F-16.

We dont have best dogfighting f16 in the game, should be quite reasonable
Hornet with upgraded engines more than able to be stronger than block40/50, at least on low speeds(on higher g-force takes its role tbh)

We dont have best dogfighting f16 in the game

We have the model with the claimed highest sustained turn rate (F-16C-50), but not the most ‘nimble’ in regards to maneuverability… though the models we have far exceed their real world counterparts in one circle authority and stability at high AoA. F-16’s simply shouldn’t do 90 degree cartwheels and recover in a quarter turn.

In regards to the F-18, I can’t seem to find any issues with the FM with the limited testing I have done. There are also not that many good sources of data for it aside the GAO report, which Gaijin has shown to have some amount of erroneous data.

What happens in real life may not necessarily translate to the game… no one dared go nose to nose with the F-18 which could sustain a 40 degree angle of attack indefinitely for the most part… and can easily ‘cobra’ similar to the Sukhois. That’s putting yourself on their playing field. Never give em’ homefield advantage.

Why now in the game when you create a TGT with AG radar, the TGP and other devices cannot be automatically pointed to that location.

From what i remeber there is classified(for gaijin) manual for F/A-18 with -400 engines with ghraps
