As much as i’ld love to see them, the Swiss Hornet does have F-18E/F cockpit layout and avionics. Pretty obvious why the cannot add it at this point.
I distinctly remember it having been said that the F-18 is an “Iconic jet” and therefore “it will be introduced to all relevant nations at the same time”
I might be paraphrasing a little there but it seems its not quite the case anyway as there IS a Swedish hornet but there ISNT a Canadian/Australian hornet. Nor is there the Swiss hornet.
For all those who are about to ask, “you have the eurofighter why do you need the F18”

I disagree. COmpared to the Rafale and Typhoon, that would well fit as well. Also, the E/F specific stuff was only added relatively late as Kawest (combat efficiency improvement), I think around 2010 or so.
So best gib us Helveti-Hornet early and late, haha!

I was refering to the assumption that the early would be what the USN flew in Desert Storm. They did not carry the AMRAAM yet then.
