You are highly overrating its ability to 1. Avoid missiles and 2. its capability in uptiers
Maybe so, I only played it when it had excellent matchmaking really. In regards to original post thought I don’t think it would be impossible to play at 10.3 and might be best for all the flareless. Moving mig21bis going back to 11.3 would help prevent getting clicked on from the front but since it’s premium I doubt they’d ever move it back
No. It is incredibly dumb to move this up without general decompression moving up MOST things. The French F-8 as it stands would not survive north of 10.0.
Sure, just move it and its opponents up in the same patch even better. All I’m getting at is it’s ridiculous powerful when fighting anyone who isn’t way faster than it
Taken just how good the F-8 (especially the E) flies, I very highly doubt moving it up will result in any real issues.
The biggest issues for it will be Mig-21 and Mig-23 which are insanely undertiered anyways.
Either way, I’d rather the F-8E (FN) get put into Mig-21/23 tier than it continue to harrass 9.0s and 9.3s.

The u-2 has the better FM, followed by the E and then the FN
The E models don’t rip as easily so I consider them better.
But that’s where their benefit ends. They are much heavier and have a slightly worse TWR. So if you learn the limits, the f8u-2 is the better package, and is lower in BR on top of that.
French F-8E is the lowest, and most undertiered of the three.

It has the best missiles and best airframe (tied with the American F-8E). The only downside is no flares.
No flares, worst crusader FM, best missiles but just 2 of them. Having 4 aim9D is often better at that BR range, having no countermeasures is a death sentence, specially in slow transonic jets.
I’d rather get 10.3 uptiers in the ayit than play the F-8E FN in downtiers

That’s kind of the exact same experience in most 9.0s
Which is why it should be moved up
Also, I would rather fight three F-4Cs in a full uptier with a 9.0 plane, than fight a single F-8E or J7D/Mig-21 or Mig-23 in an F-4C so it’s not the case for all 9.0s.
It really shouldn’t. Unless we get a much-needed decompression. The F-8E FN isn’t played much for a reason. It’s free food for any other jet with capable IR missiles
