Also about the 11.7 Viggen, id agree if the BR’s were decompressed, additionally if it had RB 72 maybe or even RB 71A or B but unfortunately the Viggen lacks the number of weapons to be at 11.7, id never take the Viggen over a Mig 23 MLD/MLA, in fact id go as far as to say the Mig 27 would be a better fighter (more so a joke, but i love the mig 27’s the 30mm is literally top 5 imo, besides i have a positive KD in both without ever bombing. Tbf its how i play most strike fighters with high rpm cannons.)
Viggen simply is a worse phantom with its gimmick being it trades 2 missiles for a PD at a slightly lower BR.
in both it’s still OP as hell imo, especially sim but we were talking about rb here. the numbers i posted were my rb numbers, sim numbers are kinda useless becuase you just seal club people with terrible rwrs.
In rb, it can just zoom around at mach .9 in the furball. I agree it’s acceleration isn’t the best, especially low speed, but above like 700 kph it’s definitely above average, and its energy retention at around mach .9 as i said is great, while having great high speed pull (10 - 11 gs usually)
Now how about damage model, if the viggen gets its wing slightly yellow that thing will almost always fall out of the sky, its damage model is horrible in my experience, ive had nearly full black model on my mirage and flown back to base vs a slightly yello Viggen wing lol.
RB-72 is essentially a R24T made before all other IRCCM missiles, had it gone into production it would’ve been the first IRCCM missile in production. They made them but were pushed by the US to buy from them for better trade relations iirc. We do have the stats for the missiles since they made around 20. So no better than 9L and it was compared and said to be a better option but the US essentially forced sweden into buying their equipment unless they wanted to have worse trades in the future.
Regardless its going a bit off topic, i linked my comment from a while ago because i dont care for the Viggen, i think its meh, it can be OP if you think it is. I disagree i think the F-5A(G)-40 is a very good vehicle for 11.0 even in uptiers to 12.0, 9l’s aren’t really much better since i use them the same way i do the 9J’s or E’s on the other F5’s which is to force my target to bleed speed and let me get a shot. I win against most F5E’s because they slow down to 400kph which if i had slowed down id be dead, instead i use my better TWR past 1000kph to stay away until they are nice and slow then pick them off. I have a decent KD in the Norge Tiger but im also not the most skilled air player. Im pretty average yet i think a F-5A is very good even at 11.0
imo, only way f-5e is overtiered is if you compare it to the nf-5a, which is just a straight up upgrade because of the lighter weight. i dont understand how its at 10.7
The F-5 heat signature is ridiculously low and small for the actual engine temperatures it has.
It can be on full afterburner and most missiles will need to be ridiculously close to get a lock from the rear, because the game considers it to be “colder” than a subsonic MiG-15 on 50% engine throttle.
I am not trying to say the F-5 is a bad dogfighter. It is an extremely good dogfighter. I win almost every fight I take in it. What I am saying is that once you take a fight, you have 3 enemies trying to launch missiles at you, and then they join the fight and you get stuck in a 3v1. This is EXTREMELY frustrating for me because I can win many dogfights in this plane, even 2v1s most of the time, but when 3 or more people gang up on you its over.
