Hi yall! So recently I grinded out the F/A-18D, but I’m too tired to play actual top tier, so here I am, at a crossroad. Which plane is better in the current meta? I tried searching any info, but every post and video is more than a year old, and with the addition of the premium Su 30’s, im scared of being sucked into 13.3. So, here’s my question, which plane do I grind out? I know that the F-4EJ Kai COULD get the AAM3’s it carried Irl, as well as an HMD, and the F-4 allows getting the F-15J’s, which, after recent br chages of the F-15J early, seems like the obvious thing. But on the other side theres the F-16, which I dont really care about, but it unlocks the F-2A. So yea, if anyone has any tips on what plane to choose, please share them! Also, I will be greatful, if anyone suggests with which plane should I grind them out (I have everything up to rank 7 (with the exceptions of the Thai F-5’s) as well as the F-4EJ ADTW)
Right now the F15JM is better than the F2. AESA radar seems op at 13.7 but F2 only has 4 Fox3, no HMD, and slower than the F15JM. So grind the F4EJ KAI and finish that line, do the F2 line last since F16AJ is not that much better than the F4EJ KAI and the F15J at the same br again is better since it carries AAM3 and F16AJ is at a higher risk of getting uptiered to 13.3 to fight chinese and russian Su30s.
F-4EJ Kai sucks. Its not nearly as good as the EJ. On the other hand its at a lower BR and still has a better flight model than the F-16AJ. Only benefit the AJ has is theres a possibility they might remove it and it becomes “rare”

Yeah its more versatile. Better high speed AOA pull and much less compression. F-16AJ will run circles around an F-4… at 400 KPH which nobody is ever at in that BR
Compression is one of the only issues with the F-16AJ. Otherwise its way better than the F-4EJ in pretty much every statistic FM wise. You can still reliably play high speed F-16 even with its compression issue which is at like Mach 0.9.
Do you… play the BR? You are not always at Mach 1 where compression is an issue.
I have played the BR yes… and I’m sorry but NOBODY is dogfighting a slow F-16, they just straight up arent. You also get 4 useless IR missiles and 2 usefullish SARH missiles. Your only strength is the one thing people will not engage you in.
F-16AJ sits at 12.7
F-4EJ Kai sits at 12.3
So the Kai is better. Its worse than the F/A-18A at the same BR but its not unusable at 12.3. You will have a way better chance at 12.3 compared to the AJ at 12.7 because 12.7 is pretty much guaranteed into the 13.0/13.3 premium black hole, whereas at 12.3 you atleast have a chance out of it.
Never heard of HMD on the F-4EJ Kai, but it can get AAM-3s in the future. I would much prefer if we got the F-4EJ Kai ADTW with AAM-4s and AAM-3s at 13.0~ as an ICE equivalent rather than move the EJ Kai up to 12.7 with AAM-3s.
You don’t need to dogfight to find the many advantages the F-16AJ has over the F-4EJ Kai.
If you had experience with the F-4EJ ADTW you will probably feel familiar with the F-4EJ Kai, which at the shortest of explaination is a improved F-4EJ ADTW with a better radar and missiles, subjective but yet improved. Adding AAM-3 as top IR missile is asking for a abrupt battle rating change, whereas the F-2A ADTW is the lowest battle rating (of 13.0) vehicle with such missile. F-16AJ will work greatly as cheaper close air support vehicle, maybe even in simulator air battles with a more competent air-to-ground missile (AGM-65B). At the end of the day F-15J (M) will be the best option including at long term with the introduction of next-generation airplanes, which I believe that the F-35A and F-35B can be placed after F-15J (M).
