tbh i really dont wanna grind for another F-4E
im still hesitate whether or not i should say that they just make the current F-4E “late” version and raise its BR
since it would get stuff like 9Ls and 7F pretty sure
the thing with that is that a late variant would need a different model for both aircraft and cockpit
as the in game one is very visibly missing TISEO and DMAS
i wouldnt see it happen anytime soon
gaijin would only care if its a new shiny vehicle
and new shiny vehicle only get care for 2 months max
idk
I feel like an F-4e late would be a good way for them to introduce anti radiation missiles, so it might happen sometime soon
im 99% sure HARM would only be introduce on more modern aircraft instead of things like F-4
maybe?
it depends on how effective gaijin thinks it will be, because if they act like its really good they could put it on f-4e late and give it a very high br in ground battles
thing is gaijin would want to introduce “new weapon that they spend 500 hours to finally get them to work” on things like F-15EX or F-35 etc instead of an old F-4, F-15EX with HARM would be more eyes catching than the smoky F-4
I guess, it just depends on how good gaijin thinks it will be
f-4e could also be a good introduction for cluster bombs too for the same reason of it wont be as oppressive as adding them for the f15ex or something
gaijin definitely would choose shiny modern planes to add new toys instead of old stuff for sure
sad
F-4E “Late” never used Harms, the F-4G did only
Yes, though the F-4E did have access to the AGM-45 (added with the production of Block 15 F-4C’s ['62 ], retained by all subsequent US Airframes), the -76 (Anti-Rad, AIM-47 Falcon variant, trialed on the F-4D) and -78 (I’ve only seen images of it in Israeli service on the F-4E specifically, though I’d need to double check some sources) Anti-Radiation Missiles.

Heyo
Looking to see if anyone has the TO 1F-4E-1-1-1 manual which includes information about the AN/ALR-46(v)3
do you know what kind of manual that is?
I am not familiar with -1-1-1
If you are looking for a flight manual (just -1) I can say none of the 3-4 ive seen have RWR information
same with the weapon delivery manuals ive seen
edit:

yeah I dont think ive ever seen that
ive seen a -34-1-1-2 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/10DStdKTjkHK0CAzs-RjhRkRgDhPdDWLQ/view) but not -34-1-1-1
TO 1F-4E-1-1-1 is from my knowledge still classified because it contains information on the technology of the ALR-46 and i guess the US government doesnt want that to get into Iranian hands. But as a US citizen i might be able to get a hold of it but ive never requested a manual from the US Airforce before.
What were you trying to find?
I am looking for info regarding the RWR’s ability to distinguish missiles from aircraft radars. It seems very odd that it cannot detect missiles (especially american-made ones) and it just shows them as “PD”
And as a bonus, I am looking to see if the newer variants (specifically V3) distinguish between different aircraft types
This depends on what is shooting at you, as an example APG-63, -65, & -68 can support missile guidance from their track waveform for Mono-pulse equipt Sparrows, and AMRAAMs. And so don’t have a distinct third waveform (search, track, guidance) that would provide information that a missile is being guided.
As such any track from said radar would be assumed to be guiding a missile.
TB-43-0123 Aviation Electronics Configuration Directory Manual
" AN/ALR-46(V) Countermeasures Receiving Set is an airborne system which enables the crew of tactical aircraft to detect the presence of threat radar signals and to identify certain characteristics of those signals"
" The AN/ALR-46(V) is essentially a produce improved AN/APR-25/6 system"
It has a line item specified as a signals processor, but unlike the -39(V) on the next page isn’t specified to be digital, and the Azimuth indicator is reused from the APR-36, which is an upgraded APR-25, wich is also specified
“IP-57/APR-36(V) … Azimuth Indicator”
Which is this thing;
My bad, I meant active-radar missiles.
It can already detect CW illuminators
Would depend entirely on what exactly was in the threat library, and as such it’s basically up to Gaijin.
Well, that’s why I am asking for info about it
