The side arrays were a part of the original design, and were cancelled due to cost but provisions like space, power and software were retained so that they could get refitted in the future but sadly every proposal to fit them later was rejected. Idk if this is good enough criteria for Gaijin to add them for balance reasons
yeah all we can do is hope the f22 gets it don’t get me wrong the f22 is already an absolute unit with its unmatched flight performance 2D thrust vectoring probably best acceleration and speed and stealth advantage over other 5th gen fighters AESA seeker gimbal would just let it take better advantage of those strength, giving it more opportunities to engage while making it even harder for the enemy to fight back effectively
To put it into perspective look at the f117 Despite being based on much older stealth technology fox3 in game can’t get reliable lock unless you fire or the missile get within 5km or the missile will just be on iog+DL even so if we get next gen fox3 with aesa radar seeker’s i would assume it would be able to lock maybe from 10km instead of 5km so if f22 is better by let’s say 100% over stealth of f117 then you would see how dangers f22 can be? even close range if you don’t point your tws at f22 your missile will just go dumb
Luckily we now have bullet hell for that.
That was also Smin’s response to the whole controversy.
Even if presented with some info that BARS was actually the correct radar.
At this point though removing or keeping it isn’t really gonna be that useful, it won’t cancel out the past 10 months, and with the Su-35 likely around the corner, the gameplay style will be the same.
