I’m aware that it probably isn’t the best solution but with the severe compression at the br, going down to 13.7 is about the only option. None of them are worth 14.0 at the moment.
Not really I’d rather the worst 14.0 F-18C over the F16AM where I have to trade a missile just for survivability which despite being the 2nd worst 13.7 F16 is definitely better than the OCU with only 45 CM at 13.7 without HMD
Relatively speaking, the F-18s are at the correct BR
13.0 = FA2, AV-8B+, F-14, etc
13.3 = F3 Late, F4F Ice, etc
13.7 = F-16A, etc
14.0 = Su-30 Premiums, F-18s, F-16C, etc
and moving them down is just going to force other things to go down as well.

Hornet main, I generally agree with this sentiment.
The F-18s are at the correct BR and shouldn’t go down in BR for ARB
They are capable in the right hands ground or air.
The F18 early without fox 3’s is where it should be
The F18 late with fox 3s is where it should be fighting fox 3’s without AESA
The F18E is where it should be with it’s AESA and dumptruck of 120D’s
Most if not all of the issues I’ve experienced with the F18 are pilot error.
Eh only thing I personally disagree with is the F-18C at 14.0 it lacks HMD and K band with no AIM 120c imo it should be brought up to MLU 1 standard or removed from the game, it has no purpose or proper balance in game

Not possible Finland follows a strict historical loadout regardless of capability. This is why they lack bombs on their Mig 21 despite the ability to use them remaining on the aircraft.
Finlands F-18C is the oldest model of the bunch at 14.0 but they never used Aim 7P (or 9L but gaijin added it for some reason)

And for the record the AIM-120Bs are better in EVER SINGLE ASPECT over the AIM-120Cs on the hornets due to lower mach limits of the air frame.

This and the unfair thread both cover it, the devs had no interest in changing the F-18C it was always meant to be the worst model at the same BR as the US.
The 120 is more so a preference with how many missiles specifically fox 3 we have on the Hornets I do tend to carry a mix of 2-3 aim 120C for more long range shots.
Also yes I bring up the F-18C because there is no real argument for the standard US late to go down when it’s solid at its BR. My original suggestion for the F-18C to go down has also since changed and I fully believe it serves no use nor can it be properly balanced currently, it is and will always be the worst model at 14.0

Like the 2x EFTs, whilst yeah, at the moment, there is basically no reason to ever not play the AESA one, the differences are notable and they are at slightly different BRs. In the future, they’ll probably move further apart
But those 2 F-18s… Its just kinda stupid. The only reason I can think to play the first one is to get the spade bonus and then never touch it again and I cant see either really ever changing in the future.
Good luck trying to spade it, it’s basically just 14.7 games and needing to use radar tilt keybinds is a nightmare against AESA jets. Unironically the F-18C is beating the US KD with US at .87 and Fin at .91 both are atrocious for 14.0 but whatevs
Realistically if it was at 13.7 it wouldn’t make any difference compared to where it is now on performaing against similar airframes. Except then it can bully 12.7’s with fox 3’s.
Yes compression sucks at top tiers for ARB.
Yes that was my point and why I still believe it either should be removed or given it’s MLU 1 upgrade to give it HMD and IFF (also eventually 9X compatibility lol)
Depends really on how they would re-shape the mod lines, if the 120s end up in a full mod row the overall price hike should be very minor, but it should be far easier to access by default.
F16c is 13.7, as is the f15c. There is no decompression. There likely wont be. The f18 is worse than the f16c in most aspects let alone the f15c. 10x aim120 is its only advantage.
