Holy this thread turned into a debate against a bot

will the EX get these buffs too? is this legit? I know that all USAF/USN AESA’s track range got buffed to 150km on Dev.
yes, it got these first dev server day. pobit and super also have these stats now.

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/BJnTph2KlDql
oh wow, they are finally buffing it to match the range of the initial AN/APG-63 (even earlier than the radar of the in game F-15A)
note whats missing in this image (directly from boeing website on advanced eagle)

its kinda funny
none of the renders for IA even show the forward MAWS mounts, much less it having MAWS
but devs were trying to give it MAWS anyway to make it a better version of the EX
but the radar screens only go to 150 km in Dev, so why does it say the signal and track ranges for HDN modes are 300km? @Alpharius11348

The problem with your argument is that you keep switching between the F-15C Golden Eagle and the F-15E whenever one has a disadvantage compared to the F-15EX.
You say America doesn’t need the EX because the Golden Eagle already has an AESA radar and 12 missiles. But when the EX’s significantly better engines and ground-attack capabilities are brought up, you switch to the F-15E to argue that America already has those too.
That’s not how this works. You can only fly one aircraft at a time.
If we compare the F-15EX directly to the Golden Eagle, the EX offers significantly more powerful engines (40% more thrust), much better multirole capabilities, a better radar, a better rwr, etc.
If we instead compare it to the F-15E, the EX brings an aesa radar, better rwr, aim 120d, up to 12 air to air missiles, still a thrust increase (10%).
The Golden Eagle might have the radar and missile capacity, but it lacks the EX’s engine performance and ground-attack capabilities. The F-15E might have the engines and ground-attack capabilities, but it lacks the EX’s combination of an aesa radar, improved RWR, and missile capacity.
You can’t take the best features of two separate aircraft and pretend they’re available together on one aircraft.
Also, comparing the EX’s thrust to the F-15E and saying it’s only a small improvement completely ignores the much larger difference between the EX and the Golden Eagle, which is the aircraft you originally claimed makes the EX unnecessary.
The entire point of the F-15EX is that it combines the air-superiority F-15C golden eagle with the strike capabilities of the F-15E, while improving on both.
And if the F-15IA deserves to be added to Israel because of those improvements, why wouldn’t the F-15EX deserve to be added to America?
The argument isn’t that America desperately needs the F-15EX to be competitive. It’s that the Golden Eagle and F-15E existing separately doesn’t make the F-15EX redundant.
gaijin artificial limits :P
also map size, NE is not really big enough to warrant a longer range even though the map is bigger than the scan range. (and you don’t pay attention to targets at that range anyways, which is why DL and a tactical situation display style of map would be great)
the PDV head on mode allows you to see targets outside of the normal range because it looks at relative speed instead of actual range, so the scale on the radar screen doesn’t cut it off short
Now how did you come up with that conclusion
I would do the same for Israel except Israel doesn’t have a GE or a f15 with 12 missiles
But it does tho and it’s better than the the f15i
Excluding the thrust since f15E exists that’s not that big of a change in comparison
You already have 12 aim120d on the GE
but anyway if we compare it to the f15i
It brings f15 with aesa radar, better rwr , aim120d , 12 aam (that no other plane has it in the tree) , 10% more thrust, 4 more spice 250s , jsow , agm130 and agm65G
Why not the rafale is seen as it’s an f15 by the guys above you although ik what you mean but that doesn’t disapprove my point that Israel needs it more than US
If Israel had a GE and the f15i had the same ordinance as the f15E I would be against the addition of the IA together with the EX too
but asides from that you still proved my point that Israel needs it more than the USA and that’s a fact that everyone refuses to acknowledge here
Also it provides america an f15 with harms and even with that it’s still less than what Israel would get of new things are doable techs
Anyone know why they made the irst pod not removable from the f15ex? Obviously irl a clean configuration doesn’t include that. Correct me if I’m wrong.
because thats the only way they can make it work code wise
So I’m assuming they won’t calculate and include any extra drag onto the f15ex because of this? Do they even consider drag for things like that
You’re still missing the main point. The argument was never about which nation benefits more from receiving a new aircraft. It was about your claim that America shouldn’t receive the F-15EX because it already has the Golden Eagle and F-15E.
Those are two completely different arguments.
Yes, Israel would receive a larger improvement over its existing F-15I because it doesn’t have an equivalent to the Golden Eagle. But that doesn’t somehow make the F-15EX redundant in the American tech tree.
You keep saying to exclude the EX’s thrust advantage over the Golden Eagle because the F-15E exists. But why? The Golden Eagle doesn’t suddenly gain the F-15E’s engines just because both aircraft are in the same tech tree.
And that additional thrust isn’t some minor advantage that can simply be ignored. It allows the F-15EX to accelerate faster, reach higher speeds under suitable conditions, and maintain its energy better.
This is especially important in BVR combat. Launching missiles at higher speeds gives them more initial energy, potentially increasing their effective range and making them harder to evade. The EX’s improved acceleration also helps it regain speed after maneuvering and maintain favorable engagement conditions.
That means the EX’s engine advantage directly contributes to its BVR performance, not just its maneuverability.
The same applies when you bring up the Golden Eagle’s AESA radar and 12 AIM-120Ds to dismiss the EX’s improvements over the F-15E. The F-15E doesn’t suddenly gain those capabilities because the Golden Eagle exists.
You are still treating two separate aircraft as if their capabilities can be combined into one.
The F-15EX offers a combination of engine performance, modern radar, improved avionics, missile capacity, and ground-attack capabilities that neither American aircraft currently provides individually.
And saying that the F-15E has better ground-attack capabilities than the F-15I doesn’t change this. The F-15EX is an improvement over the F-15E in several other areas, just as the F-15IA is an improvement over the F-15I.
Your comparison with Israel actually supports the point. You acknowledge that the F-15IA would be a significant improvement because it combines capabilities the Israeli tree currently lacks. The F-15EX does the same for America, even if some of those capabilities already exist across multiple separate aircraft.
The difference is the size of the improvement, not whether an improvement exists.
As for the Rafale comparison, that’s irrelevant to the argument. What other people said about the Rafale doesn’t change the capabilities of the F-15EX.
And you even acknowledge that the EX provides America with an F-15 capable of carrying HARMs, which is another capability the existing American F-15s lack.
The fundamental problem is that you’re using “Israel benefits more” as justification for “America shouldn’t receive it.” Those aren’t equivalent statements.
Both aircraft can be added. Israel receiving a larger improvement doesn’t mean America shouldn’t receive an improvement at all.
If the argument is that Israel needs the F-15IA more urgently for balance, that’s a separate discussion. But it doesn’t establish that the F-15EX should be removed from the American tech tree.
The F-15EX isn’t redundant just because its individual capabilities can be found across multiple other aircraft. Its advantage is having those capabilities together in one aircraft, and that point still hasn’t been addressed.
Atp just ignore him this entire thread has been derailed enough by them no matter what argument you throw to them
yeah please, guys. stop giving them attention. they aren’t rage baiting but man it really seems like they are, instead they are just not very bright.
5000 years of persecution and it never ends…
You are either ragebaiting or being one of the rare delusional skill issue Israeli mains.
I would takr the ragebait accusation.
Don’t give people like that any attention, they ought to be glad gaijin added what’s currently a paper jet to a nation that has already received Greece and the Rafale, and one of the reasons of said addition was precisely the lack of a top tier jet and the F-15IA being years away in real life, and most of us didn’t expect it at all since Gaijin’s criteria is usually that the aircraft is in service or at least flies in real life.
